“A system? What’s that?” John’s initial reaction was confusion.

Then George brought out the visafone.

If George fully trusted one person in this world, it would be his best friend. The only reason why he didn’t tell John about it back in Oriental City was because of his fears about the dangers of the system.

George may not be the most intelligent, but he had street smarts.

Common sense told him that something like the visafone would not be completely unknown in the world. If it existed, then people knew about it.

Not everybody, but he was sure that some people knew about it.
