Chapter Hundred and nine

Andrew Garner stood in his penthouse, the vast city landscape before him as the sky designed in patterns of blue and white. His luxurious penthouse, atop the city, seemed like a throne from where he ruled. As he sipped a glass of whiskey, a breaking news alert on his television screen caught his attention.

The news anchor’s voice filled the room, “Charles Griffins have officially taken the reins of the prestigious Adams family company. The family legacy now rests in the hands of the dynamic business couple, Mr. and Mrs. Griffins, and they’ve rebranded the company as Adscorp Incorporation.”

Contempt twisted Andrew’s face as he absorbed the information. He couldn’t understand the audacity of Charles and Norah to ascend to that sort of power, especially after the months he’d spent cultivating influence within the city. Determination hardened in his eyes — ‘they wouldn’t overshadow him,' he thought.
