Chapter Ninety-three

Emma sat by her window, staring at the rain-soaked city below. Her phone vibrated, breaking the silence that hung in the room. It was Jerry. With a deep breath, she answered, her voice trembling.

“Hello,” Emma whispered.

“Emma, we need to talk,” Jerry’s voice was firm, resolute.

Emma sighed with relief. “I’ve been waiting for this moment. What’s the plan?”

Jerry’s voice was resolute, “I’ve thought about it. I can help you eliminate Charles, but on one condition.”

Emma leaned forward, her heart racing, “Condition? What is it, Jerry?”

Jerry’s voice lowered to a whisper, “First, once we get rid of Charles and regain control of Adams Enterprises, I want to become a shareholder in the company.”

Emma felt a twinge of surprise, but she knew Jerry was a brilliant strategist. “Alright, what’s the second condition?”

Jerry paused for a moment. “The second condition is that we go back to our agreement from months ago. You and I, Emma, we get married.”
