Chapter Thirty
Charles and Norah sat across from each other in a cozy corner of a restaurant, the aroma of freshly cooked food floated through the air, setting a warm and inviting atmosphere. As they savored their lunch, Charles hesitated for a moment before raising a sensitive topic.

“Norah, you know, Emma and her brother tried to break us apart.” His eyes gazed into hers, seeking reassurance.

Norah put down her fork and looked at Charles attentively. “Really? How did they do that?”

Charles leaned in slightly, his voice lowering. “They planned the surprise party for us, hoping to catch us off guard and create misunderstandings between us. But, luckily, I found out about it and managed to avoid the trap.”

Norah’s eyes widened with surprise. “That’s quite cunning. But why would they want to do that?” she asked.

“Well you know Emma is always jealous of our relationship,” Charles explained. “Obviously she didn’t handle the divorce well, and seeing us happy together after that seemed to bother her.”
