The creature let out a long, ear-piercing hiss, like the scream of steel being dragged over stone. The sound made the air around him feel heavier. Ben winced, his hands covering his ears as best he could, but it wasn't enough to block out the pain creeping in.

His body trembled uncontrollably. His breath began to come in gasps, like cold air stabbing his lungs. His face was pale as alabaster, and cold sweat began to run down his temples. The fear nailed his legs, but his hands, despite the trembling, managed to lift the shotgun towards the creature.

“This sound...,” he muttered in a hoarse voice that was barely audible. His widened eyes full of fear stared at the creature without blinking. “It... it's the thing that kidnaps people!”

Ethan grabbed Ben's shoulder and patted it gently, trying to calm the tremors felt under his hand. He brought his face close to the side of Ben's head, whispering low like the night wind. “Calm down, Ben. Wendigo are very strong at night. Their ears are se

“Aw!” Ethan immediately looked at his finger after being scratched by the ceramic shard. It turned out that the shards from the ceramic vase were sharper than he had expected. Blood began to ooze out of the wound and slowly dripped onto the floor. Ethan looked at the wound with an exhale. “I haven't bled in a long time.”Instantly there was the sound of someone running over from behind. It was Sonia Blake, Ethan's mother-in-law. Her eyes were wide open when she came up to Ethan, her face looking bright red.Without hesitation, the middle-aged woman hit the back of Ethan's head, making the man a little dizzy. When Ethan turned his head, it turned out that the woman hit him with a fist. No wonder the blow felt quite hard.Sonia looked at the ceramic vase. “You idiot! Do you know how much this vase is worth? It's even more valuable than all your things in this house.”Ethan immediately picked up the fragments while looking down and in a hurry. “I'm sorry, Mom. I accidentally nudged it wh

“Thalia, you're kidding, right?” Ethan tried to smile even though his heart was beating very fast at the moment. “You came home drunk. You must not be fully sober yet--”“I'm really going to divorce you, Ethan!” Thalia cut Ethan off without hesitation. She looked at Ethan sharply. It wasn't an ordinary stare, but like someone who hated for a long time.Ethan frowned. “What did I do to make you say that, Thalia?”Thalia clicked her tongue. She rolled her eyes, disdaining the question asked by Ethan. “Of course it's because you're useless, Ethan. What else could you be? Your presence here only adds to the burden of the Blake family. With you being so poor and unemployed, do you think I'd be proud to tell people that you're my husband? Think about it with that shallow brain of yours!”Ethan was confused by this situation. If that was the reason, why hadn't Thalia said so from the start? Ethan wasn't a lazy person who couldn't work. “Thalia, I can work. If that's what you want, I'll do it

I am your subordinate, Mr. Ethan. However, you left the organization when I just came in.”Ethan was silent while glancing into Piers' eyes. Ethan's gaze made Piers avert his eyes. That happened three years ago, right before Ethan married Thalia Blake. Since getting married, Ethan has cut off contact with the organization. “Well ... look, who's back. Our radar suddenly picked up a powerful seal magic that was destroyed. It turns out that a legend did it.” A woman in a vertically striped black suit and miniskirt said it coldly. With a faint smile on her red lips, she crossed her arms in front of her chest. Standing at a slight angle as if showing her power in front of Ethan. “It turns out you're still alive, Legendary Demon Hunter, Ethan Hunter.”Ethan narrowed his eyes when he saw this woman. A woman who was too beautiful with very fair skin and long silver hair. At a glance, her tall body was a little full. That body had perfect muscles. Ethan could tell that this woman was strong enough to fight. The fact that she was a General in the Hunters organization was proof that this woman was not a person who can be underestimated. The woman stuck out her hand. “Cornellia Bridgit, General of the Hunters. It's nice to meet a legend like you, Mr. Ethan. I hope you came back not to disturb my position.”Ethan s

“Vampire?” Piers swallowed. He immediately turned to Cornellia. He saw Cornellia pull out the dagger. The wound from the knife became blackened. A wound that only an object made of silver could produce on a vampire's body.Piers glared in disbelief. “Oh, God...”Ethan opened the barrel of his gun. “Piers! Bullets!”Piers shook his head. “I didn't bring any. I'll look for it right away!”When Piers was about to move to get the bullets, Cornellia chuckled. The woman immediately closed the door and locked it. “There will be no bullets in this room. The ammunition is in another one.”Suddenly Ethan and Piers dropped their plans. Ethan put his revolver back in his pocket. Piers slowly retreated to the edged weapons rack. He picked up a dagger there. Although short-range combat was not his forte, there was no other weapon he could use at the moment.Cornellia turned around. From behind her glasses, Ethan could see her eyeballs turning a red color. Her pupils turned cat-like. The atmosphere

The Lambo stopped in front of one of Silverhaven's luxury hotels, the Gold Hotel. Piers became silent after he saw how strong Ethan was against monster. Even a vampire could be defeated with ease.Ethan who was sitting in the back opened the door. “Thank you for bringing me here.”Ethan then got out of the car and went into the hotel. Leaving Piers who was still glued there. Piers' hands became sweaty. He hissed while closing her eyes. “With just one magic he can defeat Miss Cornellia. I've never seen anything like that. Even my abilities are nothing compared to his.”Ethan approached the receptionist. A man with neatly combed hair and a big smile. The receptionist narrowed her eyes slightly. “Welcome, Mr. Ethan Hunter. Welcome back to the Gold Hotel.”Ethan didn't immediately answer the man's greeting. Instead, he took a black card from his wallet and gave it to the man. The receptionist accepted it immediately. The receptionist smiled back. “Ar you gonna use your usual room, Mr. Eth

“Are you out of your mind?” Edward looked at Ethan while wincing at the pain. He immediately looked back. “Niko, Fernand, why are you guys so quiet?”Edward's two friends immediately stood in front of Ethan while glaring at Ethan. They acted like people with power. Unfortunately, such intimidating behavior had no effect on a former General like Ethan. So, Ethan looked at them casually while giving a faint smile.Niko held the collar of Ethan's shirt. “From your smile, you must have done it on purpose. You're looking to die, aren't you?”Ethan pointed at Edward. “He's the one who scared me. That make the thing fell.”Niko pushed Ethan's body until Ethan backed up and his back hit the wall. “Don't fuck around, damn it. Don't you know the Chulkin family?”Ethan didn't answer her. He glanced at Edward's foot. His big toe was very red and swollen. It had probably been fractured. For a person who had never experienced the battlefield, such a thing was already very painful. However, should E

Faint shadows moved in the corners of his vision, making his heart beat faster and faster. Ben patted his chest several times, which felt tight despite the layers of clothing he was wearing. In fact, the problem wasn't the cold, but the fear that was too great at this time of night.Gulping, he turned to Ethan. He tilted his head and his eyebrows knitted together like threads. “Father, wake up.” A young girl's voice sounded faintly like a gentle stream of air.Slowly, the bearded man opened his eyes. His vision was still blurry as he had been unconscious for quite some time. He took a deep breath, then held his slightly dizzy head. “Freya... where am I?”Then Ethan's voice suddenly sounded. “You're finally awake, Ben.”Instantly the bearded man opened his eyes wide and woke up from his sleep. Immediately he glared at Ethan and set up a fighting stance. Breath rushed out of his mouth and nose. “Monster! Leave my son alone!”Ethan was standing in the doorway, his figure firmly established there. His gaze was cold and calm, as if the ice bars were ready to pierce the bones. Ben, the bearded man held his breath, immediately cautious of Ethan's figure. He could still clearly remember how terrifying Ethan had been when he had previously fought with him.Ben immediately stood in front of Freya, blocking Ethan's figure. “I won't let a demon like you touch my son!”

The world seemed to shake in her eyes, spinning uncontrollably.Ethan took a step forward. Slowly, but each step felt like a rumble. The air vibrated as if his presence ruled the room. Those fiery red eyes stared straight, piercing, making the bearded man's blood freeze. His hand reached into his jacket pocket, searching for the remaining shotgun shells. His fingers trembled violently, like leaves shaken by a storm. A bullet fell out of his grasp, sliding to the floor because of his hands that he couldn't control in fear. “Damn it!”The bearded man cursed repeatedly, his face growing pale, almost as if there was no blood left in his body. “Get out of this place, or you won't make it out alive!” The man cocked the shotgun with a loud, echoing sound, as if to reinforce his threat. The young girl behind him cowered in fear, her eyes glancing at Ethan over her father's shoulder. Her face was as pale as paper, her lips quivering silently, as if she had just seen death in human form.Ethan slowly raised both his hands, his palms open upwards in a sign of peace. His face remained flat, cold as a stone statue. There was not a hint of fear in his eyes, as if the shotgun blast was just a trivial matter.Stepping away from the table, Ethan tilted his head, his gaze fixed on the man. In a low, calm voice he tried not to provoke the man with the beard. “Calm down, sir. I think there's a misunderstanding here.”The man with the beard glared, his eyes burning like embers ready to burn. His breathing sounded heavy, filling the room with tension that hung in the air. Ethan's calmness seemed to be the spark that magnified the flames of

Ethan stood at the edge of the gravel road, his boots touching the ground damp with morning dew. Fresh air slipped into his lungs, carrying the distinctive scent of wet leaves and a hint of clay. She took a deep breath, then exhaled slowly. The cold air mixed with her hot exhale, forming a light mist in the morning.“How long have I been without air like this?” he murmured softly, his eyes gazing at the dense forest on the other side.A wooden signpost stood askew on the side of the road, the writing slightly faded, but still legible: Dogu. Ethan touched the board with a finger, the wood rough and mossy. The village felt unfamiliar to him, but his steps remained steady following the small road that led to it.Along the way, the sound of children's laughter echoed. Some ran around in bare feet, sending dust into the air. A small boy held a battered kite, its string tied tightly in his hand. Ethan glanced at them, the corners of his lips lifting slightly-a rare smile. However, the peace

Trevor calmly turned around, placing his gun on the dusty display case. His movements seemed confident, but there was a mystery lurking behind his smile. With one swift movement, Ethan slipped his dagger back into the holster, but his eyes remained fixed on Trevor. A shadow of suspicion crossed his mind. “How can you make something stronger than your grandfather's work?”Trevor tilted his head, as if savoring the moment. “That's why he retired. I've perfected his technique. He knew it was time to leave the shop to me.”He paused for a moment, staring intently at Ethan. “So, what are you looking for, legendary Mr. Demon Hunter?”Ethan
