Fatherly Love

Shian walked down the stage and stood still waiting for Grandpa Enzo.

Grandpa Enzo picked up the unconscious body of Ryan and left the room, Shian followed closely behind.

They made their way down the long hallway filled with several doors leading to different rooms, Grandpa Enzo entered a room and placed Ryan on a bed, he tapped his wrist where there was a black watch and spoke some words.

Some minutes later, Shian heard a noise that sounded like a drill at work, he turned to look in the direction he heard the sound and was surprised when a gust of wind hit him, almost throwing him back.

"A speed ability." Shian muttered to himself.

He followed the direction of the wind and saw a young man and woman in the room, they both had blue clothing that had the Blackwill's crest on the left side of their chest, the man was carrying the lady in his arms, he carefully placed her down and the lady got to work, she went over to Ryan and knelt down by his side, she stretched her hands over him and a greenish glow emanated from her hands, the injuries on Ryan's body began to heal slowly, all this while no one had said a word only greeting each other with a nod when they arrived.

"If I may ask, what happened to him?" The young man asked.

"He sparred with someone and got injured." Grandpa Enzo bluntly replied.

"The person seemed to hold a grudge to have injured him this much in their 'spar'."

And that was it, no one said anything else until they both left, the same way they arrived. The young man picked up the woman and shot off with unimaginable speed, well, unimaginable for Shian, Grandpa Enzo could probably keep up with him.

Grandpa Enzo escorted Shian out of the room, they walked down the hallway to the garden, Shian was just dumbly following Grandpa Enzo as he walked ahead.

He had noticed that Shian was in a bad mood since what had occured in the dining hall. He nudged shian and earned himself a dark stare from Shian, what followed next was a loud slap from Grandpa Enzo landing at the back of Shian's head.

"WHAT THE!!!" Shian winced and rubbed the back of his head which was already an eye catching red by now in contrast to his white hair and smooth skin. He stared at Grandpa Enzo who was smiling, Shian was so angry he wished he could just...

Shian couldn't complete his thought before another slap forcefully turned his head in the opposite direction of Grandpa Enzo.

Shian stopped in his tracks, his head was ringing and for a second he thought he saw stars and birds flying round his head. Grandpa Enzo meanwhile still had that sickening smile on his face.

"You give me that look one more time, and my next slap will knock you out. You understand me?" Grandpa Enzo said to the dazed Shian.

Shian nodded his head dejectedly, what could he do in the face of the powerful, he couldn't fight back, even if he tried to do something, he will just get kicked back down.

"Do you know why I hit you?" Grandpa Enzo asked. Shian shook his head.

"Because I frowned at you."

"No." Shian turned and frowned at him but immediately looked away while rubbing his sore face for fear of receiving another slap.

"I've lived for a long time Shian. I've seen many people, both good and bad, I've seen people turn from being bad to being good and I've seen pure and innocent people turn from being good.... to being terrible villains." Grandpa Enzo stressed the last part while looking at Shian before continuing.

"Shian I know you must have been through a lot, but don't let the past affect your good nature, it doesn't matter what others may say about you, you mustn't change yourself because of someone else, they might turn you into what you previously hated the most, they might take you down a part that you once swore to never take, so be careful.

I'm saying this words because I noticed that since what occurred in the dining hall, you've been acting strangely, perhaps what Ryan did seemed to have triggered a memory and made you act up. You should learn to control your emotions, even if you are pushed to your limit, you should learn to walk away from a situation you know you might regret what will happen if you react."

"Take my words like a father speaking to his child, although Ryan seemed to have acted strangely, just like you, his father died recently." Shian turned to look at Grandpa Enzo, what he had just said had caught his attention.

"Uncle Ryan" Shian muttered.

"Yes, My son who recently died is the father of Ryan. They share the same name, it always makes me remember him whenever I see Ryan." Grandpa Enzo chuckled lightly as a single tear rolled down his cheek. He gingerly wiped it away and continued walking.

"By the way, will you like to stay with us before going to the academy?" Grandpa Enzo asked.

"Sure, I don't mind." Shian replied.

"Okay, then this will be your room for the rest of your stay here." Grandpa Enzo stopped in front of a room and opened the door to reveal a large room. He walked in and looked around, except for the color, everything was the same with what he saw in Grandpa Enzo's room. "Goodnight" Grandpa Enzo's voice drifted into his ears before the door was closed shut behind him.

Shian walked to the bed and sat down thinking about Grandpa Enzo's words. For some hours, he just sat there thinking before he eventually made up his mind.

"He's been good to me since we met —that, I can't ignore— but I still can't trust him, after all my father was betrayed by someone he knew for years. You have to do a lot more than that to prove yourself to me, Grandpa Enzo."

Meanwhile in Grandpa Enzo's room.

ACHOOO!!!

Grandpa Enzo sneezed heavily and sniffed while rubbing his nose.

"Who the hell is calling my name by this time of the day?!! I'M TRYING TO SLEEP GODDAMMIT." He said then turned to face the other side.

Shian slept peacefully that night and enjoyed the rest of his stay at the Blackwill's mansion. Time flew by, Shian and Ryan had reconciled, they became good friends and learnt a lot from each other, soon the day of the academies new session arrived.

A new beginning awaited them, and they where both ready to take it, to achieve, their individual goals.
