Seeing that Serenity was busy with work, Peter shrugged it off and said, "I'll stop bothering you, then. See you later.”

After Peter left, Jack held Serenity’s chin with his fingers and turned her face to him. "I don't like you looking at other men like that."

Serenity laughed. "You're thinking too much. I don't have any feelings for him."

"Does he have any feelings for you?" he asked.

She did not know what to say.

"He's that co-worker who has a crush on you, isn’t he?" he asked.

"Yeah. I already asked Xyla to tell him no. I didn't think he would come look for me."

"He's not good enough for you. If you don't like him, you should have rejected him more directly," said Jack.

Serenity laughed. "You think too highly of me. I'm the one who's not good enough for him. He has a house, a car, and a stable job. A lot of women in the Sanitation Office are interested in him."
