Serenity's first reaction was the thought that Jackson might attack that small restaurant. If he could destroy an up-and-coming company to the point of bankruptcy, there was certainly no limit to what he could do to that small restaurant.

"No..." she stammered. "No, I never thought of it that way."

She did not want to see the small restaurant suffer because of her. Besides, she could tell that Clare was a decent person, and she even had a disabled son to take care of, so Serenity was sure that Clare must have a lot of burdens to bear.
