"I'll cry if you really want to see me cry." Jackson's voice rang in the room again.

Serenity's eyes widened in disbelief. What did he just say? Him? Crying?

"What?" Jackson smiled gently.

"I'll do anything you want. I'll try my best to fulfill your wish," Jackson said. He lowered himself slowly, his handsome face closing in on her.

Serenity stared blankly at him. His face was so close that she could see her own reflection in his dark eyes. He was smiling, but he spoke with a serious look. It was as if he would really cry and fall into tears as long as she wanted it.

"Do you want to see?" His voice rang in her ears again. A soft murmur, the sweetest words of love.

Serenity shook her head. "No."

Her answer caused a slight confusion in his eyes. "Why?"

"Because it'd hurt me. If you're crying, it would mean that you're sad. I don't want to see you sad," Serenity explained.
