"Why the hell are you drinking alone?" Caleb Moss’s voice suddenly rang in Lucas's ear. "You hardly ever come here, yet you spend your time drinking alone? How dull!"

Lucas swirled the glass in his hand and swept a glance over the people around him. The only reason why he had accepted Caleb's invitation to come to this party was because he had been feeling too depressed these past few days and needed to take a breather.

But then he discovered that he felt no better at all here, anyway. His brain was fully occupied by thoughts of Serenity, and he just could not shake them off no matter what he did.

"By the way," Caleb continued, "I heard you and Jackson had a fallout. What's going on?"
