Ch 10 - The Core Crystal (Edited)

"The system senses a crystal core nearby! This way, my dear!" Then she grabbed my hand to move forward.

Several hours passed, and we were still looking for the core crystal that was nearby, but I believe it was not so nearby because so many hours passed.

"Is this the correct direction? Is your system broken or something, big sis?" Bella asked.

"Yes, it is the correct direction!" Humune replied with a confident tone in her voice.

"There, I can sense it... I can feel it, hahaha." Humune pointed her finger in the direction of the location of the crystal core with a happy face.

Then Humune dug the ground under her with her bare hand.

I didn't know what idea came to her mind. She was not using any digging tools.

Then I saw a red wave coming from her hand.

"What is that?" I was baffled by the red wave coming through her hand.

"My dear, do you sense a red wave coming through my hand?" Humune asked.

"I think so," I replied.

"Wow, my lord, you will be stronger in no time! You can command a red wave of ether too, just like in the past," Bella said while grabbing my wrist and raising it above my head.

"Hey, stop that, but how will I do that?" I asked, and I released my wrist from her custody.

"With the system's connection to us from you!" Bella replied.

"Do you mean for now it's still not possible, right?" I exclaimed with a regretful tone in my voice because I already knew the answer.

Then I waited for a few more minutes for Humune to finish the job.

"I think this is the core crystal that we are looking for." Humune pulled out a core crystal from the ground that she had already dug about six feet deep.

"Yay, big sis!" Bella suddenly jumped with joy around me in a circle like a child would, even though she was already a little too old.

She was about a thousand years old or more.

"Well, we need another one, right?" I asked for confirmation.

"Yes, my lord. Let's find another one. Let's go, big sis! Teeheehee." Bella giggled.

"This way!" Humune exclaimed and jumped forward. She dematerialized the core crystal in her hand to keep it safely in her system.

"It must be handy to have a system, right?" I murmured to myself without expecting both of them to hear from me.

After a few minutes had passed, we reached Red Hill, and then we climbed up Red Hill to get a proper look at the Valley of Death from the highest place.

I was shocked because of the countless skeletons of humanoids below us all over the place.

There were just too many of them for me to count.

'The sight will make me feel like I will hate the Mars world because there are so many errors.' I exhaled a lot of air with sadness in my heart.

I knew my previous planet, Earth, also had the same problems.

I was also a sinner, just like the rest of them, and then I looked around to scan the area properly.

"What happened in the Valley of Death? The soil was also very red, like a bloody liquid." I was surprised by my surroundings because it was like the end of the world.

After several hours, I heard a shout from Humune.

"My dear! This is an easy one to get!" She shouted very loudly from the far left of me.

Then I saw that she snapped it from the dead tree.

"What is that? Is that the core crystal from the tree?" I asked in a loud voice for her to hear. She was far from me.

"The core crystal is the by-product of dead soil. In the past, this was a buffer zone during the war between two nations," Humune explained with a loud voice.

"Big sis knows everything!" Bella, by my side, exclaimed to me.

"Bella... But you always reply, 'I don't know!' hahaha..." Then I pinched Bella's cheeks with both hands for a brief moment, and then I said, "You are very cute!"

"Thank you, my lord!" Bella replied with a smile on her face.

I looked at her and kissed her on the cheek again and again, and after that, I stopped to look at her blush reaction.

"Thank you, Bella!" I said.

"My dear!" Humune shouted at me and looked into my eyes, and then she jumped to make herself in front of me, and she seemed to want me to thank her too.

"Thanks to you too, Humune!" I said and pinched her cheeks too with both of my hands.

*BANG! BANG! *

I heard a gunshot sound nearby. Within seconds, we were surrounded by soldiers from Earth because of the look of their attire.

"Fire at will!" The commander of the soldiers said.

*BANG! BANG! BANG!*

"Black robe, embrace me! The sword of death cut their heads! Kill them all!" I shouted.

"I obey your command, my lord! Tehehehe," Bella giggled and prepared her ultimate shield for me.

From the inside of her embrace of the black robe the ultimate shield of Mars, I could not see anything.

After a few minutes passed, Bella uncovered her black robe around me, so I could see my surroundings once more.

I saw a bunch of heads cut off from their limbs on the ground.

'Humune is a very skilled fighter...' I thought.

"Big sis incoming!" Bella warned in a shouting tone, and she pulled me with her black robe to escape the incoming soldiers, there were so many of them to count.

"Humune, let's get out of here!" I exclaimed.

"Yes, my dear!" Then Humune cleared the path forward to the border of the Death Valley.

I closed my eyes, as I could not stand to see multiple heads flying off to the ground.

'So many dead soldiers from the earth... All around me is sorrow...' I thought, and sorrow consumed my heart, because I could not believe that Humune needed to kill my fellow human.

'When I go back to the planet Earth, I will find out why they are coming here!' I thought.

A few hours passed, and we were free from the danger after Humune and Bella killed countless humans that were coming our way because they wanted the core crystals too.

I sighed out loud in relief.

"Huh... We are safe here in the green field again. Where is this? Why so many woods and lakes?" I asked so many questions in one breath.

"That pillar of light on the central land emitted a wave of energy, I could feel it... Is that the right place? I should ask Humune, right?" I sensed something peculiar, and I felt something resonate with me.

We stood together, and we looked at the pillar of light from far away.

The light was so beautiful, with multiple patterns and colors in the surroundings, then I turned to Humune on my left side.

"Humune, my shorty girl! What raw material do we need from this place?" I asked because I was very curious to know the next thing to get after the core crystals.

"The Mars particle, to give me the power to cut the universe apart," Humune replied.

"Bombastic reply from you, but where can we locate it in this massive place?" I asked.

"That pillar of light there!" Humune pointed her finger in the direction of the pillar of light that was so easy to see from far away.

"Yay! My lord will be able to use the system! Soon enough," Bella joyfully said, and then I turned my face to her and saw her cute face.

"But Bella… I just want to go home to the planet Earth. I want to see my sister, my mother, and my father. They are all waiting for me..." I sighed with longing in my heart because I missed them so much.

"Why did you call me 'my lord'?" I asked out of curiosity.

"Because I love to serve you, serving you is my essence." Bella replied.

"Is that your own free will?" I asked again while holding both her hands.

"Yes, my lord!" She replied in the affirmative.

"Humune, what about you?" I turned to Humune to ask the same question and went to her, holding both of her hands, and locked my eyes to her eyes.

"My dear! You are my dreamer, I love you," Humune replied, and then she went to kiss me on the lips.

I was surprised and delighted to kiss her back and enjoy the moment of love for a few minutes.

A few minutes passed, and I released my lips from her lips and kissed her ear gently. "I kind of like your lips, though, very loving and sweet." I whispered.

"Wow, my lord showed his love to my big sis, tehehe..." Bella giggled, and I showed my affection to her too by kissing her on the lips.

"I know, right? My dear!" Humune exclaimed behind me, hugged me from my back, and pinched the lower part of my belly.

I felt so loved by both of them, Bella and Humune.

After that, we kept walking towards the center of the place with a pillar of light.

On our journey, we saw a lot of puddles in the surrounding area with green grass on the ground, and I noticed the crystal clear water inside the puddle, and then we stopped.

There was a beautiful fish inside one puddle among many of the other puddles.

"Fish... Is that a carp fish, right?" I pointed my finger to the puddles of water with the carp fish in a red and white pattern on the body.

"The fish here is poisonous. We cannot eat it, my lord," Bella explained.

"But can we eat the snake?" I asked.

"Hey, lil sis? Did you feed him a snake in the past?" Humune raised her voice a little, and she seemed a little angry.

"It's okay… Do not raise your voice to Bella… The snake tastes very good, though. Let's move forward." I replied on Bella's behalf.

We went to a high place nearby.

From there, I saw a group of people fighting among themselves.

"Get down, Bella! Humune!" I exclaimed in a whispered tone.

Then both of them got down on the ground, and we looked carefully at them.

"My mana is almost exhausted," Humune whispered in my left ear.

"I still have more. I can kill them if you want," Bella whispered in my right ear.

"Don't do anything reckless. Save your mana for now!" I whispered in a commanding tone to both of them.

"But my lord, we are almost there!" Bella replied and pursed her lips.

"Yes, I agree. We are about 400 meters from here, my dear." Humune added.

"How did you know that?" I asked.

"The system told me. Well, should we wait for them to kill each other?" Humune asked.

"Yes, good thinking," I said as I petted her head, and she smiled brightly.

After a few hours had passed, I no longer heard the sounds of people fighting.

I crawled slowly and looked in the Mars particle's direction.

I saw many dead bodies lying on the ground.

"Let's loot anything valuable and put it in your system!"

"There is nothing valuable, my dear... Let's prioritise the Mars particle... Lil sis! Carry our dreamer forward. Let him make contact with the Mars particle! I will guard the rear guard in the distance."

Humune jumped to the rear guard to protect me, and she was ready for the next kill.
