CHAPTER 29: TED'S DARK PAST

"ACCK!"

"What is this darkness?"

Ted saw himself standing in a small cottage, sunlight streaked in through the window indicating that it was still daytime. But where?

He could see the fire place, the mat the table. It seemed all to familiar for him not to remember. "Why am I home?"

A chair appeared before him, a small wooden chair just before the small fireplace. The was a figure sitting in the armchair.

"Umm, who are you?" He asked in a scared tone.

"Tsk! It is chilly today is it not... Son?" A small sweet voice spoke to him.

Ted gasped out of shock and walked slowly to the front of the chair and looked at the sickly woman seated in the chair wearing a simple gown and having thick brown hair draping down her side. Her face looked shriveled and distorted by old age but she looked to be in her early twenties.

Ted had shrunk back to a younger version of himself of age five. "M-- mom?" He broke into a light sob.
