Chapter 27

"Hello," Derek said into the phone after picking up the call.

"This is Marcus's cousin," the caller informed him.

"I know," A brief pause and then he asked, "What's up? Are they still there?"

"That's why I called. They just left now."

Derek instantly found himself at a loss. "They left?"

"Yes. Some minutes ago," the caller said. "Heard you're on the way so I decided to call to inform you not to bother about that again."

Derek found himself in a dilemma. However in order to continue the conversation with the caller, he decided to park his car by the roadside.

A bit of frustration was embedded into him but he tried not to let that frustration overwhelm him.

"Are you sure it was then that came into the hotel earlier?" he had to ask.

"I'm sure about that. They fit the description of those that came the last time."

"How long were they at the hotel this time around?"

"About an hour? They tend to use short time whenever they come around," the caller explained.

Derek was utterly disappointed
