Chapter 30

Derek wasn't sure how to feel about how it was all going. At least he was getting somewhere with the whole thing.

He hadn't called Marcus in a while so he reached out to him via a call. They both agreed later in the day but first Derek had to have lunch with Gina.

"I'm glad you stuck to your words," Gina first said immediately they found themselves in the waffle house close by to the company.

Derek smiled as they both settled down and got their orders.

For a while they ate in silence. Eventually, Derek decided to ask something regarding the project because that was the discussion that he had been waiting to have since finding out his new position on the project.

"Why do you think Mr. Uriel is bent on getting you to be in contact with him?" he asks right after taking a sip of his bottle of water.

"I'm not sure," she said. "He just seems so interested in me."

"Can I be blunt with you?"
