Chapter 1. Bryan Grayson.

“TEN HUT!” The deep husky voice boomed around the field. The field could be said to be a perfect artistic masterpiece if it wasn't situated inside a military camp.

Rows of military men stood erect next to each other as they awaited the orders of their superior. Soon a muscular man donned in exquisite military uniform with three stars stripes on his shoulder walked out.

“Shit! It's Major Cutthroat!”

“Are we being assigned to Major Cutthroat!?”

“Our days in the military is over! Mama I'm dying soon!”

Murmurs arose amongst the ranks of the soldiers. Major Cutthroat was known for his brutality in the army and he personally disposed of any soldier who disobeys his order during any operation; No Court-martial, just a bullet in the head, or a slit across your throat.

“Hush! Or I will be sending you girls to meet your creator!” His voice boomed again. This time there was absolute silence.

“You girls are being assigned to me! And believe me when I say that I do not.. condone any weakling in my squad!” his voice resonated with utmost authority. At this time, all eyes turned to a particular individual who had a stoic expression on his face. This action piqued the Major's interest and his next word proved it.

“You! Soldier! Front and Center! Now!”

“Yes Sir!” a lean youth with black hair and blue eyes walked out and stood in front of the Major. He should be about twenty one years of age, yet his build suggested he was the type to be picked on and bullied. Yet there was no flicker of fear in his eyes, only defiance and the Will to attain something higher. The Major immediately recognized the boy. He had already been briefed of the soldiers in his squad and as such he knew everyone of them. Unfortunately the boy in front of him wasn't truly the brightest amongst the soldiers in the army.. in comparison, he was like the early Steve Rogers before he became Captain America.

“What's your name Soldier!” the Major asked. He already knew who stood in front of him, but to exert dominance, he demanded the name from the soldier.

“Bryan! Sir! Bryan Grayson! Sir!” the boy answered.

“Grayson! From now on you're in charge of carrying our equipments! Do I make myself clear!?” Major Cutthroat said with authority. His tone proved it wasn't a request but an order.

“Crystal Clear! Sir!” the boy answered. There was no change of expression on his face. This annoyed the Major as he did not get the satisfaction he wanted.

“Get back in line!” Major Cutthroat ordered with a grimace on his face.

“Yes Sir!” Bryan replied and walked back to his former position.

Bryan Grayson, age twenty one. His original name was Bryan Browne Houston, but due to the fact that he and his mother were excommunicated from the Houston family, Bryan changed his name to that of his Mother's. His mother was a maid who served in the Houston's family mansion. One night Anthony Houston; his father, could not control his lust for his beautiful mother, thus he forced himself on her. His father accepted responsibility but when it was time for his father to take on the position of Helmsman in the Houston family, the upper echelons insisted Anthony should purge himself of all muddy blood. Thus his father, without a second thought, pushed him and his mother away.

Back then, he was called a bastard and an illegitimate child at a tender age, and got chased out of the home, together with his mother, whose asset and valuables were seized. She had made use of the eight years Bryan was born to build up a small corporation company, but the Houstons seized everything, leaving them with nothing to fend for themselves. He had a high persistent fever at that time. And while holding him in her arms, his mother knelt by the Houstons' doorstep and pleaded for help, only to hear them say coldly

“We don't care about the lives of those who are not one of the Houstons.”

Afterwards, his mother brought him to Oceania, a fishing village where she worked hard to make ends meet. Although life was tough, she managed to raise him to adulthood. However his mother developed an illness and became bedridden after years of toiling and living a strenuous life.

At that time Bryan had just graduated from college, and his meagre wage was barely a drop in the bucket compared to the hefty medical bills. He swallowed his pride and tried to seek help from the Houstons, only to receive a heartless rejection, harsh mockery and criticism, which made him feel hopeless and great resentment towards the Houstons.

Bryan went back home and sold everything that was of value in the house, including most of his clothes. He managed to raise up some money which will enough to cover up a year's worth of treatment at the hospital.

Bryan then decided to leave Rockville behind and join the military. He swore to make a name for himself so that he can finally take care of himself and exact revenge on the Houstons.
