Lexi nodded. “Deal. You better don't tell on me.”

A smile stretched across Luke's face. “I won't.”

Lexi glanced at the book and back at the environment. It was then that she noticed that they had gotten to a really large door.

“Cold Case Room.” Lexi read the words written above the room.

Although the words were peeling off, she had no difficulty reading them.

“Is this the prohibited room we weren't allowed to go into?” Luke questioned. “Are we going to get electrocuted or something if we go next to the door?” His voice was laced with sarcasm.

Lexi ignored him. He was scanning the door, but her gaze was focused on the lock. It was a keyhole; she had expected and pictured a padlock and wasn't expecting that.

“Do you have the keys?” Lexi asked.

“I thought you would have it,” Luke replied. “I wasn't able to get the keys.”

Lexi pulled out a pin from her pocket. “I didn't plan on using the keys in the first place. I planned to break in, and that's exactly what I am going to do.”
