Eris facepalmed herself, seeing that Sherry had just spilled the words she had been hiding.

“You know about it?” Perseus questioned. “I didn't remember telling you anything about it.”

Her hand flew to her lips as she realized that she had revealed what she had wanted him to tell her himself. “Does knowing about it change the fact that you put her life at risk? She is a cop, not a detective.”

“It wasn’t me,” Perseus responded. “All I did was save her. That bastard kidnapped her and took her to his den. I went there to save her.”

Her brows rose. “Then where were you? We have been awake and gotten over our hangover, and you are just coming back home.”

“I wasn’t late.”

“You were; it is 6 a.m.’’

Perseus glanced at his wristwatch; the time was 6:12 a.m. He had no idea the time had gone by so fast due to Iris nagging him to use the car and not run all the way home. He reluctantly agreed and only got stuck in the traffic on his way back home.
