Perseus considered Zeppelin’s question. If the killer was still in the house, it would be odd since five years had gone by.

“I don’t think the killer would still be here,” Perseus said. “It’s been five years; there’s no way he would be living here.” But he wondered why he had been sent here to investigate something that happened five years ago when everyone had already left.

Ryan’s brows furrowed. “Killer? I thought we were talking about ghosts.”

“So you fear ghosts?” Zeppelin questioned, turning his gaze away and heading for the stairs. “How lame.”

“If it isn’t a ghost, how do you explain the camera not seeing what killed them?” Ryan demanded, his brows furrowing in defense.

“That’s because it’s edited,” Zeppelin replied with a smile, glancing down from the stairs after taking his first step up. “Don’t tell me you believe in ghosts.”

“Of course I do.” Ryan didn't deny it. “I know that they are real and that they’ve been haunting this place.”

“There are no ghosts,” Perseus announced.
