"Where's my tuxedo, damn it?!" a man with an arrogant face shouted furiously in his room. His voice boomed loudly, echoing beyond the room.

Alexis stumbled forward, clutching a cane to guide his steps as he was blind. Approaching the man, who was around 55 years old, Alexis handed over the tuxedo.

"Here's your tuxedo, Mr. Howard Cornell," Alexis said, his blonde hair catching the faint light, holding the neatly hung tuxedo out.

"You're so slow!" Howard snatched it roughly, glanced at it, then threw it back at Alexis' face. "You idiot! This isn't the navy tuxedo I told you to clean, damn it! I told you to clean the black one!"

Alexis trembled. "I-I'm sorry, Dad I'll prepare it—"

"You're useless!" Howard shouted, kicking Alexis' cane away, sending it skidding far across the room. He stormed off, leaving Alexis behind in a storm of rage.

Alexis took a deep breath, trying to hold back his frustration. He had endured humiliation nearly every moment in this house.

He knelt down and felt around the floor, searching for his cane.

"Alexis! Alexis! Where are you, huh?!" Lenora shouted. "Did he run off?! Oh, shit!" A shrill voice rang out from beyond the room. A brunette woman with striking blue eyes appeared, her youthful looks belying her 45 years.

"I'm here, Mom," Alexis called out softly, standing up when he found his cane.

Entering the room, Lenora shouted, "What are you doing in my bedroom, huh?! Are you stealing?!"

"N-no! I was delivering Mr. Howard's tuxedo," Alexis explained quickly, his voice panicked.

"Why were you looking for me, Mom?" added Alexis, changing the subject.

"Stop calling me that disgusting title! Call me ‘Madam,’ especially in front of guests! Got it?!"

"S-Sorry, Mrs. Lenora Cornell."

"Good." Lenora smirked. "Did you prepare the dinner yet?! The Morris heir will be here soon!" She demanded sharply. "You better make sure everything is perfectly set on the table! Don’t you dare embarrass the Cornell family!!"

"You don’t have to worry. Everything is ready as you requested," Alexis replied with a polite smile.

"I’ll check it myself! If anything is out of place, I’ll kill you!" Lenora stormed off, leaving her son-in-law in silence.

Alexis sighed quietly, forcing himself to remain calm. Despite the constant mistreatment, he continued to show respect because they were his wife’s parents.

He retreated to his room for a brief rest. He had been awake since dawn, cleaning the mansion as large as a golf course and preparing everything for the luxurious dinner at Howard and Lenora’s orders.

"Honey," Alexis called softly to his wife, Zelle Cornell, who was busy applying makeup at her vanity. "I hope you can secure the contract with the Morris family. It would make Grandpa Carlos proud."

Although Alexis had no role in Zelle’s efforts to secure the partnership with Morris Corp, he felt he had done his part by organizing the dinner and ensuring everyone’s attire was ready.

The Morris family was the wealthiest in the United States and the world, controlling nearly every major industry, from mining to construction and gold.

The entire Cornell family had waited years for this opportunity, even willing to do anything to obtain the partnership.

"Stay out of it," Zelle snapped while applying her striking red lipstick. "Just focus on your tasks and don’t mess up this important dinner."

Alexis clenched his jaw slightly, suppressing his disappointment. No one in the house respected him except Carlos Cornell, Zelle’s grandfather. Carlos was the third richest man in the world as the owner of Cornell Corp.

Unfortunately, Carlos had been in a coma for over a year due to a chronic heart condition, which was unsurprising given his age of 85.

Since then, the Cornell family had turned into monsters. They treated Alexis like a servant, forcing him to do menial labor because no one defended him anymore—not even his wife.

By 8 p.m., the Morris family was expected to arrive. The Cornell clan gathered in the grand lobby to welcome Vincenzo Morris, the Morris heir, while Alexis was ordered to stay in the kitchen and not show his face unless summoned.

Soon, a sleek Rolls-Royce pulled up in front of the Cornell estate, flanked by other luxury cars.

A handsome young man in a sharp, expensive tuxedo stepped out, exuding an aura of authority.

"Welcome, Mr. Vincenzo," Howard and Lenora greeted him first as Carlos’ eldest son and daughter-in-law, followed by the other family members.

They led Vincenzo to the grand dining room, where an opulent feast awaited. The dining set gleamed with gold and silver accents. Vincenzo took his seat at the head of the table.

"Where’s Zelle?" Vincenzo asked, his deep voice commanding attention.

"She’s finishing up in her room, Mr. Vincenzo," Lenora replied with an unwavering smile. "She’ll be down shortly."

While several maids served the lavish meal, Alexis entered carefully, carrying a bowl of soup.

"Why do you have a blind man working in your home?" Vincenzo asked disdainfully, eyeing Alexis with obvious disgust.

"I’m actually the—"

"Because we pity him," Lenora interrupted quickly, her voice slightly tense. "He’s an orphan and blind, so no one willing to employ him. Since he came from one of Carlos’ orphanages, we decided to give him work here out of kindness."

"I admire your generosity," Vincenzo remarked coldly. "To take in garbage like him."

'Garbage?' Alexis clenched his fists tightly but chose to stay silent, swallowing the pain of their constant rejection.

Moments later, Zelle descended the grand staircase, wearing a stunning red dress with a daring neckline. Her movements were graceful, catching everyone’s attention.

"You look beautiful, darling," Vincenzo said, rising to kiss her forehead.

"Thank you, dear," Zelle responded, blushing slightly.

Alexis froze at the sound of the voice. It was painfully familiar.

"Why did you call Mr. Vincenzo 'darling,' Zelle?" Alexis asked carefully, not wanting to jump to conclusions.

"That’s obvious, Alexis," Vincenzo interrupted. "Because Zelle is my fiancée."

"What?!" Alexis exclaimed, his hands trembling as the soup bowl slipped and shattered on the marble floor, shards scattering dangerously close to Vincenzo’s feet.

"How dare you claim Zelle as your fiancée when she’s already my wife!" Alexis shouted angrily.

"Are you joking?" Vincenzo snapped, glaring at Alexis.

The entire Cornell family stiffened as the argument erupted. They were at a loss, knowing their secret had been exposed. They had warned Alexis to keep quiet at all costs.

"That’s not true!" Lenora denied. "Don’t believe his nonsense, Mr. Vincenzo. He’s just a liar. There’s no way a blind man like him could be married to our beautiful, accomplished daughter."

She turned to Alexis with a sharp glare. "Right, Alexis?"
