Chapter 15
Artemis got the results, she felt awful for making him do her dirty work. He didn't want to be affiliated to the syndicate so she had to be the middleman.

She exhaled, once she got to the safehouse, she would apologize. He had already been through enough.

She rushed home and the mysterious figure watched from an undisclosed location.

The source of his guilt was running rampant with his identity in that folder.

Artemis hurried home. "Maks?"

He grabbed her arm. "You won't be meeting your friend any time soon."

His eyes flashed and she collapsed. He found a lighter in Maks's locker and set the end on fire.

Maks's aura flared as a snake and he hissed wrapping his limbs around him.

"I know what you are, you're murderer. You're nothing, you think she'll forgive you but she won't! You're wasting your time."

As soon as Maks softened his grip, he took stock of it and broke free elbowing his jaw.

"You couldn't afford to fight monsters right? You go about bullying humans."
