Chapter 134

He shook his head, the second cop hit the first on the shoulder.

"He has a right to know anyhoo."

"Know what? Why is she in the infirmary?"

"That's enough questions, boy."

He shuddered. What if she got hit by a bus? Or a taxi, what could be worse? The prison cell was cold with white bricks and a window at the top. Moths were dancing hopelessly around an inbuilt light. There was an uncomfortable-looking stainless steel toilet.

"I just need to call somebody."

"I'm afraid we can't let you do that, phone services are closed. You'll have to spend the night."

His throat closed up. Communication was far-fetched, his phone was confiscated. He was not allowed to take incoming calls. Perhaps even after the booking process. What was he going to tell her? Perhaps the parlor just set itself up for failure yet again.

"We'll be watching you, there are cameras everywhere just in case you want to play the rat maze. We want none of that." He said.

[ So much for fair treatment ] He added.
