After all that shopping and moping, Maks strolled around the mall to style his rough hair, get manicures. He wanted to buy a nice surprise gift for Jessica for her birthday with the money he had literally saved up for the winter. He figured she would cherish a new bag or drawing book and some colouring pencil sets to 'channel her creativity' or whatever Doreen had been talking about the day she doodled on his wall.
