Chapter 39

Maks worked less than 8 hours a week now, it was the middle of September and he marked a day off his phone calender. He was dizzy from staring at it for too long. He gazed at the ceiling of his room while he laid back.

He might have considered going to the party because he had nowhere else to be.

He was more easygoing these days. He had time to train up at the academy and make up for last month's minimum guarantee at work that had he lost due to August's accident. Leo was still considerate.

"2 weeks and 5 days to go." He grinned to himself and rubbed his hands together. He grabbed his backpack ready to leave. He stopped abruptly at the doors.

"Going somewhere?" Leo said shrugging into his coat. He had dreadlocks pressed down by a white headband and his nose was ruddy. He snorted and gave Maks a confused look. His eyes were sunken.

"Uh... I'm heading home?" Maks shrugged and pointed thumbs outside the doors. "Are you head my way?"

"No, of course not. I have a meeting with my therapist
