Everyone halted as they heard that shrill voice. They were quite surprised and of course, they wanted to continue to watch the scene being displayed.

Ethan turned around to see Becca staring at him with a livid look. But she folded her arms, trying to look sassy.

“Did you just speak to me?” Ethan asked, wondering if she had gone nuts to demand an explanation now.

“Yes, I did. And I am asking you to explain yourself this instant.” Becca replied and Ethan frowned in displeasure. He used to look at Becca as a classy girl but now she paled in comparison. She didn't even care if everyone was looking at her weirdly.

“What is there to explain?” Ethan asked with a shrug of his shoulders. He looked like he wasn't bothered and he just wanted to leave but then Becca wouldn't let him.

“You are asking me that? You lied to me all these while and never even told me you had money. You gave me just measly amounts and now you show up as an honored guest of The Star Hotel. Of course, you do owe me an explanation!” She thundered and there was some buzzing noise in the lobby.

However, Ethan stood there with his hands crossed behind his back. At first, a smile formed on his face, and then he laughed out loud. His laughter was filled with mockery and disdain.

“Becca…” He called out to her as his laughter seized and now he was looking at her with an indifferent look. She stepped back with a fearful look on her face as she had never seen Ethan look at her that way.

“You were never appreciative of whatever I did for you. Tell me, why should I tell you I am rich? So you could suck me dry?” He asked and then a sarcastic smile formed on his face and then low chuckles.

“You…” Becca let out, shaking with anger while she pointed a shaky finger at Ethan. She was tempted to poke his eyes to stop him from laughing. She looked around and surprisingly, almost everyone started to point fingers at Becca now, calling her a gold digger. Those people were accusing Ethan of being a thief a while ago and now the tables had turned. This only meant that power and money ruled the majority of people.

“Manager Thorn, this drama is getting too much,” Ethan said while he waved his hands nonchalantly, signaling that he wanted them out.

“Yes, Mr. Ethan,” Thorn replied and immediately he beckoned on the receptionist to get the security guards. Two minutes later, three security guards came rushing into the lobby.

“Mr. Bastien, Miss Becca, everyone else, please leave.” The receptionist spoke this time and Becca saw the security guards coming for them. She ran to meet Ethan, falling at his feet as she didn't want to be thrown out.

“Please, Ethan. Forgive me. I will do whatever you want. Please don't throw me out.” She pleaded, holding onto his legs. She recalled how Ethan used to love her so much and she believed he would hear her out. He couldn’t have gotten over her, in just a few days, right?

“Becca! Stop this!” Ray called out from behind, shocked that she switched sides so quickly.

“I love you.” She let out coyly, looking up at Ethan and totally ignoring Ray.

Ethan looked down at her with a slight smile on his face and Becca was glad that he was melting. She held onto him tighter. Again, everyone watched to see the show unfold.

Slowly, Ethan took hold of Becca and raised her up while still maintaining his smile. At this point, Becca was giddy and she was sure he was going to take her back. She tried to hug him while she sent a glare across to Ray who was shaking in embarrassment.

However, Ethan pushed her with so much force, that she was sent crashing into Ray’s body.

“Get her out! This instant!” He ordered and the guards all chorused their acceptance in unison. They dragged Becca alongside her companions while she screamed and tossed around, calling and cursing at Ethan.

“This way, please, Mr. Ethan,” Thorn spoke up as Becca and Ray were being escorted out of the lobby while other guests settled down.

Ethan followed after Thorn as if he took no part in what just happened.

Soon, they were all in the manager’s office and he brought out several documents for the hotel. Apart from the main branch of The Star Hotel which they were in, the hotel had several branches outside the city and even outside the country.

“Please, sign these and we will be done. A detailed report of the hotel’s affairs will be compiled and sent to your email soon.” Thorn explained as Ethan scanned through the change of ownership documents.

It was surreal to him but it was indeed happening. He was no longer going to be a worker who lived from paycheck to paycheck.

“All done,” Ethan said as he signed the last part of his document.

“I look forward to working with you, boss.” Thorn stood up and bowed slightly and Ethan just waved his hand, dismissing him. After all that, he walked out of the office and out of the hotel. Thorn had already booked a ride for him since he didn't come with a car. Ethan got out of the hotel to see the car waiting for him by the roadside.

However, a few steps away from the car, five men rushed out, blocking him from getting to the car and five other men blocked him from getting back into the hotel.
