The Star Hotel

Ethan's head almost exploded just by seeing the words on the screen. A million dollars in his account was a dream come true and now he knew this shit was real! With that money, he could clear all his debts and do whatever he wanted but above all, The Star Hotel reward was still shocking.

At the same time, his phone dinged and he took it from the bedside and saw that he had just received an alert. Truly, a million dollars had been deposited into his account and he sat up. All forms of pain disappeared from his body and he started to grin from ear to ear.

He became a bit anxious and he just wanted to get out of the hospital so fast. Two days passed and the doctor discharged him, although he didn't get to see the doctor who he flirted with, he didn't mind.

Ethan was dressed in shabby clothes as he took a cab to the city center. Before being rewarded, he would always board buses to save cost and now he didn't care about the cost of a cab.

Soon, he got to the entrance of The Star Hotel and his eyes twinkled, filled with so much expectation. He didn't fail to notice the eyes on him and they were filled with disdain. He got into the hotel lobby which was enormous, with chandeliers hanging from the ceilings.

The place had a resting area by the side where distinguished guests sat to chat and then there was a reception by the side. Immediately, he spotted a well-dressed lady behind the stand and he smiled, she smiled back at him with his legs moving on their own to meet her.

“Good morning sir, welcome to The Star Hotel. How may I help you?” She asked, her eyes roaming about Ethan’d body and they landed on his face. Seeing how shabby he was, her expression did not change one bit and he was impressed.

“I think my job here is done because I have seen what to work on.” Ethan blurted out without thinking as something was pulling him to her. He just wanted to make her elicit emotions. It was like a primal instinct and he guessed this was because of the system.

“And what is that, if I may ask?” She asked.

“You,” Ethan replied firmly she was taken aback at first and then a genuine smile spread on her face and he didn't relent.

“You look so much beautiful when you smile.” He complimented her, causing her smile to grow wider.

“Oh wow, Mr…” She said, her voice drowning out as she didn't know my name.

“Ethan.” He filled in, winking at her.

“Mr. Ethan, it is such a pleasure to hear those beautiful words from you.” The receptionist was visibly glad about the compliments.

“You are so good-looking as well and I hope your day is going well.” She said, sincerely while she blushed. Ethan couldn't control the smile that bloomed on his face and he nodded.

“Of course, with you, I am sure I will have a great day.” He said, firmly. He would be able to do what he was there to do faster since the receptionist was so kind.

“So, what would you like me to do for you?” She asked and instantly, I turned serious.

“I would like to speak to the manager. We have a little business to discuss and I guess he should be expecting me.” Ethan explained simply. The receptionist was a bit taken aback, wondering what a man like Ethan would want to discuss with the manager.

There was a tiny bit of doubt that Ethan was a fraud but she refused to dwell on that. The Star Hotel accommodated many billionaires and millionaires, most of them were not even known by the world. What if Ethan was a billionaire and he was just being low-key? She decided to take this gamble and call the manager.

“Alright, I will let the manager know.” The receptionist replied and Ethan took a sigh of relief. Things were going smoother than he expected, especially after his encounter with the guard.

His back was turned to the rest of the lobby and he didn't see who was behind him but then he heard footsteps. Before he could turn around, a voice resounded.

“Ethan, you don't have to hide your face from me. I dumped your ass and now you are here to stalk me? Are you trying to get my attention by pulling one of your ridiculous tricks?” An obnoxious voice filled with so much mockery flowed into Ethan’s ears, causing him to turn around.

“Becca?” Ethan said with raised brows, seeing his ex-girlfriend. But she was with another man, his hand wound around her waist.

And there were two other men, clinging onto their women, Becca’s friends.
