Take Her Away

“You can always do that without proving it to me.” Robin said with a small smile on his face. He didn’t want to continue that depressing conversation with Mac, so he stood up to his feet.

“What happens if you become the valedictorian? As always the best among the rest.” Mac said with a bit of mockery in his tone. He wasn’t even sure if that mocking tone was directed at him or Robin.

“You don’t think you can be the one?” Robin asked back with raised brows. He failed to understand why Mac couldn’t remember how he had suffered all through his life. All because he got a breakthrough in the past few months, he was already termed the ‘always the best’.

“I don’t think so.” Mac replied as he downed a bottle of whiskey in one gulp. His throat burned but he refused to stop. The pain in his throat overshadowed the one in his heart. He felt so low on himself and that was a pain he didn’t want to experience.
