The Boss

Robin's eyes widened in shock when he looked at himself in the mirror. His skin had turned fresher and he looked fairer than his normal self.

"Is this a dream?" He asked, himself as he touched his face, slightly. And then he noticed that his hair looked sleeker and when he touched it, it was so soft. He had never even used a hair or skin care product before and now he gets all the care, just by performing tasks.

"Are you there? Squandering System." He muttered those words as he was desperate to see what had provided him with all these. Up until this moment, he was surprised that he was now a millionaire!

[Yes, I am always here! You have successfully performed today's task and you have used up your points. Ensure to perform the next task to also gain points for your use.]

The system said in a robotic voice as a screen was before Robin's eyes. He continued to look at his balance and he couldn't even keep his eyes away from it.

"What have you been staring at, Robin?" He heard his roommate say and immediately, he snapped out of his thoughts.

"Did you say something?" Robin asked as he turned to look at his roommate, Mac. They had been living together since they started college. Like him, Mac was also a poor guy but then he couldn't be considered a church rat like how Robin used to be.

"Yes! You have been staring at the mirror..." Mac started to say but then his tone drawled out. A look of surprise and astonishment flashed across his face as he moved closer to Robin.

"Why do you look so different?" He asked and on the other hand, Robin frowned as the system screen disappeared. Mac had interrupted his moment and he was a bit irked but he didn't say anything about it.

"Do I?" Robin asked, with raised brows as he knew what Mac was talking about.

"Did you do a skincare routine? Where would you even get the money to do that? Why do you look so handsome, suddenly?" Mac asked with wide eyes as he tried to touch Robin's face but he was quick to draw back.

"What? Is there something you are not telling me?!" Mac asked, with a frown seeing the way Robin drew away from him.

"Well, I'm not hiding anything." Robin replied as he tried to think of what to say to his friend. He couldn't tell Mac the secret of the system as it was exclusive to him alone.

"I got free sessions from a skincare brand and they dolled me up." Robin answered, in one breath. Although he felt uneasy that he had to lie, he could not help it. He was a very honest person and now his life was slowly changing.

Moving on, Robin tried to avoid every other question Mac asked as he couldn't disclose his secret.

Hours had passed and Robin was starting to panic. The system had told him to squander 5 million dollars in three days but then he did not even know what to do.

"Hey, Robin. You have been staring so absentmindedly, these past few hours." Mac asked and Robin turned to look at him. He was thinking about a lot but as he saw his roommate dressed and ready to leave for school for a night class, his eyes widened.

"You are off to college, right? How do you want to get there?" Robin asked as he stood up to his feet.

"I'll take the bus. Why are you asking such a question?! You know what we do." Mac said as he looked at Robin with narrowed eyes.

On the other hand, Robin danced with joy inside him. For a long time, most students would have to travel long distances to college with high costs including him. He knew how much students suffer to get transport fares.

"Why don't we set up a logistics company?" Robin spoke up immediately with eyes filled with so much eagerness. He had the funds supplied by the system and now he was going to put it to good use.

However, Mac suddenly burst into a peal of mocking laughter. He looked down on Robin so much as he never thought he would say something like that.

"A logistics company? Where do you want to get the capital from? Do you even know what you are saying?" He asked and Robin looked back at him with a serious expression.

Robin didn't look like he was joking at all and he didn't bother to feel offended by his mocking laughter knowing that he actually had the funds. Mac just had the wrong thinking about him.

"Are you really serious about the whole logistic thing?" Mac asked with a surprised look.

"Yes!" Robin replied, with a determined look. With the help of the system, he knew he could get anything done. That was how much he trusted the Squandering System now.

___

Robin and Mac walked out of a large garage with happy smiles on their faces. They had managed to secure a location for their new company. It was an abandoned site and in days, they were able to transform it.

"This is too good to be true!" Mac screamed, with joy as he whirled around Robin. When Robin had told him about his plans, he was skeptical. Although Mac had agreed to Robin's plan in the end, he decided to watch until the plan fell through. But now, Mac had been proven wrong.

"Relax, Mac. This is just the first step!" Robin said in a calm tone although he was very excited inwardly. Over the past two days, he had learned to be calm. He didn't know if it was because of the change in him but then he thought that it was a good thing.

"Then what is the next step?" Mac asked.

"Getting the cars and we will publicize our opening on all school platforms. Our company is just to aid students in their journey to and fro from college." Robin said and Mac nodded, excitedly.

It was just one day left for him to spend the 5 million dollars and all he had to do was to get the cars and buses they would need.

A few hours later, Robin made the transaction with the car dealer. As he walked out of the building, the system screen appeared before his eyes and he smiled.

[Congratulations! Robin Claire, you have successfully squandered $5 million in three days. In fact, you did that even before the deadline!]

The system's voice rang in his head and he nodded, complacently. Even though he did not squander the money, most of his decisions were made on a whim.

[You have received $10 million and 6 squander points and as always, you can use it to enhance your looks, body, and skills. Also, you have to spend the money in three days!]

As Robin heard the system's voice in his head, he thought about what to do but he had no idea now. He decided to think about it later.

Soon, he was back home with his friend, Mac and they were about to take their next step.

On the other hand, side of the city, a post suddenly popped up in the school's forum.

OPENING IN TWO DAYS! CLAIRE'S LOGISTICS WILL BE OPENING TO ALL STUDENTS! BUSES AND CARS WILL BE AT THE DISPOSAL OF STUDENTS FROM ANY LOCATION OF YOUR CHOICE! AFFORDABLE BUS FARES FOR EVERYONE!

Immediately, the post started to climb the charts in the school's social media forum. They knew how hard students who lived off-campus traveled from their homes and most students were elated by the news.

"Oh, I can't wait!" One of the students dropped a comment.

"I hope this is going to work!" Another student said and the others chorused as well. So many people have tried to create a logistics company for the students but they couldn't keep up.

However, a comment suddenly broke the calm, and everywhere turned rowdy.

"Guys! Attention! Do you all know that the new logistics company allegedly belongs to the school's church rat, Robin Claire? He is the Boss!" This comment caused an uproar as almost everyone knew who Robin was.

No one could believe that someone like that could create something like a company.
