My Sniper System Chapter 148 - Second Trial Done
“There it is, Hina. Stay sharp and alive. You need to hold this off while I concentrate on looking for an answer. I need more time, so please be patient. Maybe Oculus can help me out here and find a perfect equation. Desperate times need desperate measures,” I said, and lowered my head. “I’m sorry for everything I said earlier. I need you, Hina. I can’t do this without you.”Hina, after hearing my sentences, smiled and answered, “Sure thing, brother. I have your back. I trust you. So please trust me.”“I do. I do trust you.”I only had a few occurrences where I saw Hina’s genuine smiles. And this event was one of them. My heart fluttered and skipped a dozen beats knowing that I made my sister smile. I was aware that I had some sort of feelings towards my sister. I didn’t know if these sensations were indecent to society, but that thought didn’t matter for now. As long as Hina had no clue about it, that was fine for me. Maybe after all of these shenanigans, maybe I should confront Hina
My Sniper System Chapter 149 - Deal of the Devil
All of a sudden, the monsters turned into ashes and the first tunnel illuminated before us. It meant that the road we chose was the correct answer, so Hina and I went straight ahead for the third riddle of the day. Thankfully, there were no insects or creatures that slowed us down. Only our crippling anxiety was the one that held us back.It didn’t take us long enough to reach the other side. As soon as we arrived, ten tunnels greeted us. The place also seemed larger than usual. I could only guess that the portal thought we needed more distance to choose a tunnel and fight against monsters just in case we screwed up. And all of those roads were dyed black as the colour of our hairs. But the only glaring difference between the ones we saw earlier and now was that this place was crawling with holes made by the insects we fought a while back. Luckily, no bugs popped out from those cracks. If they were creatures lurking in the area while we guessed for an answer, the two of us would have
My Sniper System Chapter 150 - Elena
When I answered the riddle thirty seconds ahead of time, the first tunnel lit its way and revealed the correct path, while the rest of the roads became darker. There were no monsters tracking us down or any other hidden mechanism that prevented us from moving onward. Without a second of doubt, I pulled Hina away from the place and marched our way outside the cavern. According to our map, this route would lead us outside the cave for good. Within moments, Hina and I finally touched the grass and we were now outside the forsaken cave. As we turned around, the cave’s entrance closed in and shut it until someone from the other side answered the questions… just like we did. When we turned around, the familiar scent of the forest welcomed us and the chirping trees surrounding our environment. The air remained the same, fresh as if we went on a vacation inside a forest. Even the sun looked like something from our world, where the bright light illuminated the areas and gave everyone hope.
My Sniper System Chapter 151 - The Meeting
Elena led us deeper inside the survivor’s base to converse about… everything. There were a lot of things Elena still didn’t know about Hina and me, and there was a myriad of information I had to collect about these survivors. Not to mention, we were running with a time limit. If we stayed idled inside this place, the elite adventurers of the Crimson Guild would find their way inside here. And it wouldn’t be a pretty sight for everyone, especially me.Just like what had happened earlier, every survivor we passed by was glaring in our direction. Some were looking at us out of curiosity, while others were hesitant to believe our words. Thankfully, having Elena, who seemed to be the leader of the survivor group, escorting us made it easier for us to breeze through the village. It kept people thinking that we were guests or adventurers sent from the outside, which was always a good thing. However, that wasn’t the case. We weren’t involved in any organisation.Technically, the prime minister
My Sniper System Chapter 152 - My Story
“But I thought we’d already accomplished that earlier?... Well, you know what? Whatever.”“Exactly my thought. But I still don’t trust you. And I still want to know your agenda, your plan, your abilities, and… your overall identity and how you became, or at least the people have framed you, a murderer. I can’t just let you walk inside our base with innocent children and people involved. Right now, they don’t know who they are. But I… I somewhat have heard you before from my father's informant and secretary. It might be possible that you were framed moments before we were trapped here inside Omen. Regardless, you need to talk about everything and tell me what you know and what you can give to my people.”Even though I had a ticking time bomb within me - since the elite members of the Crimson Guild were after my ass - what Elena asked for was reasonable. If I was in her position, I would’ve asked the same questions. And if someone claimed to be adventurers who wished to free the survivo
My Sniper System Chapter 153 - Trust and Distrust
“Just promise me one thing, Aoi. Please protect my people, unlike the Crimson Guild… who only cares about their image….”I had heard a lot of rumours about the Crimson Guild refusing to help any people inside those portals. But I shrugged it off and told myself that wasn’t the case, considering they were the highest paid guild and the most popular one all over the world. There was no way that the Crimson Guild would choose who they saved. Then again, Elena, the daughter of the prime minister, told me otherwise.I also knew that there was some conflict between the prime minister and the Crimson Guild. It was something involving the shift of power over our country and the involvement of the United Nations. Since I was just an average civilian, I had no idea about it… Not until Vulcan, Akihiko, and Doctor Maruki told me some details they knew. “That’s the first time I’ve heard that, Elena. What exactly happened between the Crimson Guild and you…. Especially to your father?”Elena paused
My Sniper System Chapter 154 - A Sound Plan
A long and dreadful pause entered our conversation. I didn’t notice the time, but we were talking for an hour inside this house. But since Hina and I were resting for the time being and fought no monsters right now, maybe this wasn’t too bad after all. However, we had a time limit bound around our necks. And the moment that the Crimson Guild elite adventurers or the monsters residing around this place breached this place before we could even escape, Hina’s family and our lives would be endangered. The fate of the world and the possible war was within our hands. “Working together is going to be a big problem for the two of us. But if I have to do it… for your family and for the people’s well being. But if worse comes to worst, and I saw you killing our people, then I will have no other choice but… to present myself to the Crimson Guild…”“Save the people more than help me. Yeah, I get it. I would do the same thing,” I said, interrupting Elena’s words. “Don’t worry about it. Betraying
My Sniper System Chapter 155 - Going Back...
Backstory. 14 years ago(Aoi’s Point of View)____________________________Hina stormed inside her room after showing her report card to her parents… When we showed our report cards to her parents. Hina’s mother compared her to me, who had better grades than her - than the rest of the students in our school. She knew that presenting them to her parents would lead to this moment. However, Hina steeled her heart and braced herself for whatever was about to come. And it did come inside our house. Regardless of the matter, Hina faced her consequences head on and cried alone inside her room. But at the end of the day, she still had me. And maybe, just maybe, I want to be a part of her life as well… just like good old days. The Dean called both of our attention. That Dean wished to congratulate me, while they wanted to call Hina about her grades hanging on the ledge. That was the school’s regulations. And that marked the chaotic event inside our home.As the door shut upstairs, I was left

How many days had it been since the time I had been luring and fighting these beasts? Two months? No. Two months were short in my calendar. If I had to guess it right, I was up here for eight months fighting and evading these monsters. I fed myself with arcane from my surroundings and made it my nutrition. Although magic particles were different from real nourishments, it was enough to keep me functional. And my body was still in top shape. I also forced myself to sleep only for an hour and wake up dodging those projectiles for the umpteenth time. There was nothing inside my mind but evading these ambushes, hoping I could, at least, strike back with my rifle. But the time never arrived. The lizards weren’t the only creatures present in my vicinity. There were more of them. If I had to name a few, t

Volume 3 - Epilogue Aoi Two’s Perspective (not the original Aoi, but the other one who lived in a different yet similar life.) __________________________________ As far as I remembered, my parents died when I was little. When I was six years old. I didn’t need money, a lavish life, or things that I could call mine. There was only one thing I wanted, and that was my parents. I wanted them to live. But with one sudden moment, my wish turned around and burned me alive. My parents were killed by monsters, not humans. The fiend was around a hundred feet tall, and the village we were living in took the invasion. They were reptiles. These monsters had the shape of a dragon, which was technically a lizard with wings. According to the internet, unidentified beasts kept appearing from nowhere, and there were others who fought against them. Those individuals were not the police officers. I believed they were called guilds. And as I glanced around me, the news and other people claimed that t

Aoi’s PerspectiveAoi one or the ORIGINAL MAIN CHARACTER OF THE STORY (not the different one)Author’s note: This Aoi is also calling himself as Aoi one, and the other Aoi will be Aoi two (It is to avoid confusion. Thank you.)_____________________“That’s why I need to become stronger. And you’re not strong enough! Even though we’re the only ones who have this system, you didn’t try to break your own wall and learn more about it! There could’ve been portals that you could eliminate to gain more levels, and yet you chose to idle around and did nothing about it!” What did he mean when this motherfucker told me I wasn’t strong enough?! I trained with Vulcan, which Akai killed. Did he not think of that?!”“Your face is telling me that you met with Vulcan… That you trained with him. But did you learn anything from those sessions besides aiming your gun properly? Because it’s the only thing you have if you plan on comparing yourself to me!” Aoi two, or should I say, this doppelganger adde
Chapter 235 - Confrontation
Hina’s Perspective_____________________“It’s okay… Don’t cry. There, there…. It’s going to be okay… It’s going to be alright….”And then, I said the words. “I forgive you… I forgive you, Aoi… You don’t have to cry anymore… It’s going to be okay…”I said the words Aoi wanted to hear. Even though he was Obsidian, the face of my brother carved itself on the man beside me. It was as if Aoi two was a dog barking and biting people left and right only to realise he needed someone’s help… He needed my help. And now he had faced his fear and listened to the words Aoi two wanted to hear, his ears calmed down. His ears discerned what was important.‘But what now? What are we going to do now?’ I thought, and looked at the downcasted face of Aoi two. As if knowing the question inside my head, Aoi two returned my gaze and uttered, “I know… you are confused. But we don’t have much time now. As soon as I fought Aoi in this world, the entities behind these portals were already high on alert. And I
Chapter 234 - Regret
Hina’s Perspective _____________________ “Come with me.” With one phrase, the masked man offered his hand to me. He used his other hand to lift Aoi’s body and cast a spell that changed our surroundings. “I’ll show you something.” Obsidian showed no signs of hostility. And the voice behind the masked man soothed my ears as if it was some sort of music with perfect beat and lyrics. I gazed at the man’s hand, wondering if I should take it. I had seen something like this before. But something was off. And at the same time, there was a peculiar feeling of calm and genuineness. He almost reminded me of my brother. In spite of these feelings twirling inside my mind, I shook my head and answered, “I don’t… want to... I won’t leave…. My brother! You… Want… to kill him… I’ll…. Stay by…. His side…. Until you… can kill me…” There was a chance that the masked man wanted to pull me apart from Aoi. And I never wanted that to happen. The moment the masked man heard my words for the umpteenth ti
Chapter 233 - I Don't Want Him to Die...
Hina’s Perspective_____________________All my life, Aoi did nothing but help me with my problems, regardless if it involved him or me. As long as he noticed, which he always did, my brother would rush towards me and help. Aoi really forced himself so hard until he could see me smile. And even though I pushed him countless times, he continued crawling his way back in my arms. I could still remember those days when we were together, especially when these portals hadn’t shown up. Life was simple back then. If only Aoi’s parents didn’t die, maybe he could’ve lived the life he deserved. But his life was taken away by a murderer and the portal. And now, we were given the chance to confront the man who stole his life away. But even so, we couldn’t defeat him. I… couldn’t do a thing. Aoi did everything he could to stop the madman from hurting everyone, despite knowing none of the strangers, but he failed. And the only thing I could do was to watch him suffer.Maybe if I trained hard enoug
Chapter 232 - I lost
As I glanced on my side, Hina still wanted to fight. She stood up and used the rock beside him, but her legs kept shaking as if an earthquake struck us. But the ground remained still. There was no earthquake. And when I appraised her status, my system described her with a fatigue ailment in addition to her drained mana right beside his health bar.[Iron Maiden has been deactivated. Obsidian is too powerful to be compressed!]Those were the words that marked our doom. The moment Obsidian broke free from the [Iron Maiden] all hope was lost. I had no idea how to win now, especially when my sister was on the ground. She couldn’t me right now. But Hina had already assisted me until her body fell on the ground. Although she desperately forced herself to move and stand with the help of a rock, Hina couldn’t cast any more magic and would remain sluggish until she could recover her mana. Obsidian stood on the other side of the map, unscathed and unbothered from the spell. The [Iron Maiden] wa
Chapter 231 - Iron Maiden
Time wasn’t on our side. Obsidian tried hitting us with his sniper, but Hina continued lifting me up and creating walls in front of me. It was as if she was reading my movements. When the masked man pulled the trigger and launched a set of bullets in my direction, I went to the side despite having no platform for me to step on. But I trusted my sister. By the time I jumped above ground, I trusted my instincts and rolled on the side. Like I had said, there was no ground to catch me when I fell. But as soon as I gyrated my body, a floor made of soil immediately materialised and cushioned my feet. The next thing I knew, I tumbled to the side and evaded almost every bullet coming in my way. The shells that I couldn’t dodge still didn’t hit me. The moment those leads from the masked man could take me out, Hina summoned a wall in front of me and protected my face.I didn’t have the time to thank my sister and carried onwards with the fight. Time was also our enemy. So when I found an open
