Will Valve’s PerspectiveBonus Chapter (part 22)______________________“Why did you let my dad die? If you knew that these things exist, why the bloody hell did you let my dad fight against these monsters!” Icarus shouted.I had never seen this kid furious before. Even while watching Icarus desparely fend off the two gryphons while protecting others, Icarus didn’t have a maddened face… Not until now have I involved his father in the topic.Truth be told, I might be the one to be blamed for that grim incident. My team died after the military and I sent our troops to explore those portals. At least, that was what I had been informed. And when an inevitable accident fell upon me by meeting a portal, I was luckily saved by Akai himself and his newly found team. If it were not for them, my daughter… would’ve been dead by now. Among the people that followed me was Icarus’ father and a few of his unnamed men. If I was in Icarus’ position, I would’ve demanded the same thing. But since every
Will Valve’s PerspectiveBonus Chapter (part 23)______________________It took a few hours before Icarus could wake up. As soon as we arrived, we laid Icarus down on his bed, inside Akai’s office, and waited for him to wake up. Icarus’ mother was in another building, resting inside her private and exclusive room. After Akai learned everything about Icarus’ family matters, he accepted my suggestions and made us with everything he had in his resources. Icarus’ mother will always be relocated back to America and return to the main base with the rest of us.We took turns who would hit the sack and who would watch over Icarus. It couldn’t be Akai, since he was the leader of the Crimson Guild, and Kei, who was his right hand. So I suggested that Oscar and Elizabeth would be the first one to sleep, while I would be on observation duty. Considering it was already night time, and the moon was high above the skies besides the twinkling stars, As I took the first few hours, I opened my new pho
Will Valve’s PerspectiveBonus Chapter (part 24)______________________I suggested to Akai to leave a room big enough for Icarus if he ever woke up. That room consisted of a bathroom for himself as well as snacks, just in case Icarus would jolt wide awake for something to eat and return to doze off for a few minutes before conversing with us.But that wasn’t the case.As I entered the room, my eyes widened in surprise. He was there. Icarus was awake. However, the way I pictured it wasn’t that of an intense scene where Icarus would reject my offer and attack me for kidnapping him inside of this place without his mother. But none of that happened. When Icarus met my gaze, he had a biscuit inside his mouth. It was the snack I left on the table. As I glimpsed on the desk, only the wrappers were left behind, and not a crust was left from the plate. I believed Icarus was wide awake moments before I entered his temporary room. But even though he was already up, Icarus didn’t make a sound.
Back to Aoi’s Point of view______________________…………….Previously, on My Sniper System………….In the end, Hina agreed to my request and nodded her head. She didn’t say anything after that besides one last thing. And before she could even spit out the words inside her mouth, I took Hina’s hand and scurried outside.“I know what you want. You’re dying for an ice cream, right?”“How did you know?” Hina asked, acting surprised.I flashed a smirk on my face and replied, “Because I know you. I know you more than anyone inside this house.”“More than me?” Hina uttered.I nodded. “Probably. Probably not. But always remember, Hina. I will always be your brother. You can depend on me. Always. That’s what families are for.”_____________________________________The two of us stayed for the rest of the night until it reached midnight. Even though there was a mattress for us to stay in, it was difficult for me to shut my eyes and think of nothing but the portal. This time around, I was dealing w
“I’m sorry for excluding you from our talk. But I believe your brother told you everything you need to know. And I also am aware of your situation - that your parents are in the hands of my father, and he will reward you for bringing me back to his hands and taking me away from the Crimson Guild, or whatever that means… Look, I’ll be blunt, Hina. I care about your parents, and I don't want my father… I don’t want the prime minister to threaten you with your parents. But if the Crimson Guild are willing to protect these people, and your brother deals more harm than good to us, I’m afraid I will have to trust those people more than your brother, who was labelled by the news as a murderer. “ When Elena explained those words, Hina lost her cool and planned on hitting her. Elena saw through everything. But despite my sister’s actions, she wanted to take a hit. Considering what the daughter of the prime minister had mentioned, she was willing to sacrifice Hina’s parents for the sake of prot
“What’s the status of the gates and the monsters?” Elena asked one of the guards that approached us. Then, afterward, she gave out her instructions about the escape we had planned and how we were going to execute it.When this man entered the scene, everyone paid their respects and greeted him. This bloke didn’t have a weapon except for his fists. And every time he glimpsed at his side, the man never showed any openings despite having no mana or fighting prowess that my system could sense. I could only imagine that he was some sort of soldier from his past life. But it appeared that theory wasn’t the case. According to Elena, this man in front of us was just a volunteer who wished to lead the defence of this place. He was one of the few people who saw my face, but thanks to Elena, this man vowed to himself to forget what he saw and continue operating with our corporations. This man was Gabriel, a french guy who just happened to stumble upon this portal. He was a man without any powers
I was framed by the Crimson Guild. I could still remember that time that I had to save people inside and outside the portal. As soon as I knew that the monsters had the intelligence to bait me and kill the people outside. There wasn’t anything that I could do but prevent the people from dying as much as possible as the monsters massacred them all.I told the entire group about everything, and I was never a part of that slaughter fest. When I was inside that portal, I knew I had to save those people. Even though I didn’t know them, I desperately clung to hope and stopped those creatures from dirtying their hands. But since I was not powerful enough when the invasion happened, some people died while others left with injuries in their names. From this day onward, I still dreamed the same nightmare, hoping I could save more people if that happened again. When the group of survivors heard my narrations, some believed me while others shook their heads in disapproval. Every person present i
The scouts and Elena had already prepared the wagons. We were on the move. The only thing that held us back was the lack of people who could properly fend off those approaching monsters and the creatures themselves careering in our direction. Hina and I were the only ones specialised dealing with those beasts. The two of us weren’t immortal. But we were left with no choice but to do our best to save as many people as possible, ideally everyone without experiencing casualties. But before the battle could even start, the projectiles coming from the enemies’ ruined my ideal objectives. Those monsters from the north had us outnumbered. Usually, creatures existing in these dimensions were physically built to destroy humans with the strength of a tank. None of them should cast magic. However, I was proven otherwise when a brilliant dark shadow travelled across the sky, aiming at our site. We had wagons that moved as slow as a snail and pregnant mothers and children refusing to move their le
