Bonus Chapter (part 23)

______________________

It took a few hours before Icarus could wake up. As soon as we arrived, we laid Icarus down on his bed, inside Akai’s office, and waited for him to wake up. Icarus’ mother was in another building, resting inside her private and exclusive room. After Akai learned everything about Icarus’ family matters, he accepted my suggestions and made us with everything he had in his resources. Icarus’ mother will always be relocated back to America and return to the main base with the rest of us.

We took turns who would hit the sack and who would watch over Icarus. It couldn’t be Akai, since he was the leader of the Crimson Guild, and Kei, who was his right hand. So I suggested that Oscar and Elizabeth would be the first one to sleep, while I would be on observation duty. Considering it was already night time, and the moon was high above the skies besides the twinkling stars,

As I took the first few hours, I opened my new pho

Will Valve’s PerspectiveBonus Chapter (part 24)______________________I suggested to Akai to leave a room big enough for Icarus if he ever woke up. That room consisted of a bathroom for himself as well as snacks, just in case Icarus would jolt wide awake for something to eat and return to doze off for a few minutes before conversing with us.But that wasn’t the case.As I entered the room, my eyes widened in surprise. He was there. Icarus was awake. However, the way I pictured it wasn’t that of an intense scene where Icarus would reject my offer and attack me for kidnapping him inside of this place without his mother. But none of that happened. When Icarus met my gaze, he had a biscuit inside his mouth. It was the snack I left on the table. As I glimpsed on the desk, only the wrappers were left behind, and not a crust was left from the plate. I believed Icarus was wide awake moments before I entered his temporary room. But even though he was already up, Icarus didn’t make a sound.

Back to Aoi’s Point of view______________________…………….Previously, on My Sniper System………….In the end, Hina agreed to my request and nodded her head. She didn’t say anything after that besides one last thing. And before she could even spit out the words inside her mouth, I took Hina’s hand and scurried outside.“I know what you want. You’re dying for an ice cream, right?”“How did you know?” Hina asked, acting surprised.I flashed a smirk on my face and replied, “Because I know you. I know you more than anyone inside this house.”“More than me?” Hina uttered.I nodded. “Probably. Probably not. But always remember, Hina. I will always be your brother. You can depend on me. Always. That’s what families are for.”_____________________________________The two of us stayed for the rest of the night until it reached midnight. Even though there was a mattress for us to stay in, it was difficult for me to shut my eyes and think of nothing but the portal. This time around, I was dealing w

“I’m sorry for excluding you from our talk. But I believe your brother told you everything you need to know. And I also am aware of your situation - that your parents are in the hands of my father, and he will reward you for bringing me back to his hands and taking me away from the Crimson Guild, or whatever that means… Look, I’ll be blunt, Hina. I care about your parents, and I don't want my father… I don’t want the prime minister to threaten you with your parents. But if the Crimson Guild are willing to protect these people, and your brother deals more harm than good to us, I’m afraid I will have to trust those people more than your brother, who was labelled by the news as a murderer. “ When Elena explained those words, Hina lost her cool and planned on hitting her. Elena saw through everything. But despite my sister’s actions, she wanted to take a hit. Considering what the daughter of the prime minister had mentioned, she was willing to sacrifice Hina’s parents for the sake of prot

“What’s the status of the gates and the monsters?” Elena asked one of the guards that approached us. Then, afterward, she gave out her instructions about the escape we had planned and how we were going to execute it.When this man entered the scene, everyone paid their respects and greeted him. This bloke didn’t have a weapon except for his fists. And every time he glimpsed at his side, the man never showed any openings despite having no mana or fighting prowess that my system could sense. I could only imagine that he was some sort of soldier from his past life. But it appeared that theory wasn’t the case. According to Elena, this man in front of us was just a volunteer who wished to lead the defence of this place. He was one of the few people who saw my face, but thanks to Elena, this man vowed to himself to forget what he saw and continue operating with our corporations. This man was Gabriel, a french guy who just happened to stumble upon this portal. He was a man without any powers

I was framed by the Crimson Guild. I could still remember that time that I had to save people inside and outside the portal. As soon as I knew that the monsters had the intelligence to bait me and kill the people outside. There wasn’t anything that I could do but prevent the people from dying as much as possible as the monsters massacred them all.I told the entire group about everything, and I was never a part of that slaughter fest. When I was inside that portal, I knew I had to save those people. Even though I didn’t know them, I desperately clung to hope and stopped those creatures from dirtying their hands. But since I was not powerful enough when the invasion happened, some people died while others left with injuries in their names. From this day onward, I still dreamed the same nightmare, hoping I could save more people if that happened again. When the group of survivors heard my narrations, some believed me while others shook their heads in disapproval. Every person present i

The scouts and Elena had already prepared the wagons. We were on the move. The only thing that held us back was the lack of people who could properly fend off those approaching monsters and the creatures themselves careering in our direction. Hina and I were the only ones specialised dealing with those beasts. The two of us weren’t immortal. But we were left with no choice but to do our best to save as many people as possible, ideally everyone without experiencing casualties. But before the battle could even start, the projectiles coming from the enemies’ ruined my ideal objectives. Those monsters from the north had us outnumbered. Usually, creatures existing in these dimensions were physically built to destroy humans with the strength of a tank. None of them should cast magic. However, I was proven otherwise when a brilliant dark shadow travelled across the sky, aiming at our site. We had wagons that moved as slow as a snail and pregnant mothers and children refusing to move their le

Fainting now would be unfavorable to the group. And I didn’t want to force things to happen, in spite of being the only killer of the team. ‘Maybe resting right now would lead us to victory?’ I thought. But, then again, I knew this was a risk that I had to take. If I, somehow, collapsed on the spot and was unable to pick my gun and kill those monsters, these people would die with me… And Hina would die with the rest of them. I didn’t want to make that happen. So instead of bottling up my fears, I relayed my message to Hina. As I turned around, I motioned my fingers enough to catch her attention and shouted, “Hina! I’ll rest for ten minutes! Can you do something about the approaching monsters?” Hina already had her barriers up the moment I fired my first bullet against those monsters. She had been protecting this place without me issuing her a command. My sister was too focused on defending when I forgot one thing about her. Hina still had her golems surrounding the base. They w

Until then, no monsters will appear within your vicinity, so use this time to rest and lessen the distance. The next swarm will come after six hours. How many days had it been since the time I had been luring and fighting these beasts? Two months? No. Two months were short in my calendar. If I had to guess it right, I was up here for eight months fighting and evading these monsters. I fed myself with arcane from my surroundings and made it my nutrition. Although magic particles were different from real nourishments, it was enough to keep me functional. And my body was still in top shape. I also forced myself to sleep only for an hour and wake up dodging those projectiles for the umpteenth time. There was nothing inside my mind but evading these ambushes, hoping I could, at least, strike back with my rifle. But the time never arrived. The lizards weren’t the only creatures present in my vicinity. There were more of them. If I had to name a few, t

When I was six years old. I didn’t need money, a lavish life, or things that I could call mine. There was only one thing I wanted, and that was my parents. I wanted them to live. But with one sudden moment, my wish turned around and burned me alive. My parents were killed by monsters, not humans. The fiend was around a hundred feet tall, and the village we were living in took the invasion. They were reptiles. These monsters had the shape of a dragon, which was technically a lizard with wings. According to the internet, unidentified beasts kept appearing from nowhere, and there were others who fought against them. Those individuals were not the police officers. I believed they were called guilds. And as I glanced around me, the news and other people claimed that t

It’s going to be okay… It’s going to be alright….”And then, I said the words. “I forgive you… I forgive you, Aoi… You don’t have to cry anymore… It’s going to be okay…”I said the words Aoi wanted to hear. Even though he was Obsidian, the face of my brother carved itself on the man beside me. It was as if Aoi two was a dog barking and biting people left and right only to realise he needed someone’s help… He needed my help. And now he had faced his fear and listened to the words Aoi two wanted to hear, his ears calmed down. His ears discerned what was important.‘But what now? What are we going to do now?’ I thought, and looked at the downcasted face of Aoi two. As if knowing the question inside my head, Aoi two returned my gaze and uttered, “I know… you are confused. Hina’s Perspective _____________________ “Come with me.” With one phrase, the masked man offered his hand to me. He used his other hand to lift Aoi’s body and cast a spell that changed our surroundings. “I’ll show you something.” Obsidian showed no signs of hostility. And the voice behind the masked man soothed my ears as if it was some sort of music with perfect beat and lyrics. I gazed at the man’s hand, wondering if I should take it. I had seen something like this before. But something was off. And at the same time, there was a peculiar feeling of calm and genuineness. He almost reminded me of my brother. In spite of these feelings twirling inside my mind, I shook my head and answered, “I don’t… want to... I won’t leave…. My brother! You… Want… to kill him… I’ll…. Stay by…. His side…. Until you… can kill me…” There was a chance that the masked man wanted to pull me apart from Aoi. And I never wanted that to happen. The moment the masked man heard my words for the umpteenth ti

Hina’s Perspective_____________________All my life, Aoi did nothing but help me with my problems, regardless if it involved him or me. As long as he noticed, which he always did, my brother would rush towards me and help. Aoi really forced himself so hard until he could see me smile. And even though I pushed him countless times, he continued crawling his way back in my arms. I could still remember those days when we were together, especially when these portals hadn’t shown up. Life was simple back then. If only Aoi’s parents didn’t die, maybe he could’ve lived the life he deserved. But his life was taken away by a murderer and the portal. And now, we were given the chance to confront the man who stole his life away. But even so, we couldn’t defeat him. I… couldn’t do a thing. • Chapter 232 - I lost

As I glanced on my side, Hina still wanted to fight. She stood up and used the rock beside him, but her legs kept shaking as if an earthquake struck us. But the ground remained still. There was no earthquake. And when I appraised her status, my system described her with a fatigue ailment in addition to her drained mana right beside his health bar.[Iron Maiden has been deactivated. Obsidian is too powerful to be compressed!]Those were the words that marked our doom. The moment Obsidian broke free from the [Iron Maiden] all hope was lost. I had no idea how to win now, especially when my sister was on the ground. She couldn’t me right now. But Hina had already assisted me until her body fell on the ground. Although she desperately forced herself to move and stand with the help of a rock, Hina couldn’t cast any more magic and would remain sluggish until she could recover her mana. Obsidian stood on the other side of the map, unscathed and unbothered from the spell. The [Iron Maiden] wa

Time wasn’t on our side. Obsidian tried hitting us with his sniper, but Hina continued lifting me up and creating walls in front of me. It was as if she was reading my movements. When the masked man pulled the trigger and launched a set of bullets in my direction, I went to the side despite having no platform for me to step on. But I trusted my sister. By the time I jumped above ground, I trusted my instincts and rolled on the side. Like I had said, there was no ground to catch me when I fell. But as soon as I gyrated my body, a floor made of soil immediately materialised and cushioned my feet. The next thing I knew, I tumbled to the side and evaded almost every bullet coming in my way. The shells that I couldn’t dodge still didn’t hit me. The moment those leads from the masked man could take me out, Hina summoned a wall in front of me and protected my face.I didn’t have the time to thank my sister and carried onwards with the fight. Time was also our enemy. So when I found an open
