Chapter 8: Visitors

ALDRIC has been walking for almost an hour now.

Thankfully, his stamina has increased thanks to the level up he hot and the bunos he got from Wrath and Gluttony. He also brought the skill ‘Endurance,’ so it was impossible for him to get tired quickly.

"I'm still not used to my body. I felt so light, and I'm not gasping for air no matter what I do. When I was fat, even getting up make me feel like I ran a marathon."

Aldric checked his stomach which has gotten hard with muscles once again to checked that he wasn't dreaming at all.

"Even my junior has changed significantly. It grew big for some reason," Aldric commented. He checked it last night and he was shocked to see it.

Aldric shooked his head and put all the dirty thoughts aside.

“It's daylight, so I won't find Demonic Monster but just normal monsters, but that doesn't mean I should let my guard down. Although I have grown stronger, I still don't know how strong I have become. I'm still clueless of my other skills,” Aldric mumbled to himself. “I'm in a different world, and I don't know anything except from what the Queen told me. I shouldn't let my guard down.”

Just to be safe, he also activated his skill, ‘Five Senses Super-enhancement’, and ‘Clairvoyance’, the skill that let him see five seconds into the future.

It was convenient because he could avoid getting ambush.

Aldric abruptly stopped when he saw something in ‘Clairvoyance’.

A four-legged monster that measures 15 meters big and 10 meters long was coming on his way at a very slow pace.

Aldric hurriedly hid his presence.

[ Stealth Activated. ]

[ Silence Activated. ]

He felt the vibration on the ground as the colossal monster approached. The monster was slow, and it took minutes before the monster finally entered his sight.

The colossal monster emerged from the barren landscape, revealing its immense size and distinctive features. It measured 15 meters in height and 10 meters in length and was moving with a slow and deliberate pace.

Its scales were rough and cracked so that it almost resembled the dry, arid terrain, blending seamlessly with the desolation around it.

The creature's four sturdy legs supported its massive frame, leaving deep imprints on the cracked soil as it lumbered forward.

[Appraisal Activated.]

“Even though its level is bigger than mine, it's weak and slow. I can take this.”

Aldric didn't deactivate Stealth and Silence as he stood just centimeters away from the monster and summoned a fire in his robotic hand and formed it into a spear of fire.

He was about to shoot it to the Gila Monster, who was still ignorant of his presence when a light bulb clicked in Aldric's mind as he looked at his left arm.

“I remember this arm can cast magic too. Curse shot… I want to try it.”

An evil grin formed on Aldric's face.

He formed his hand like a gun, pointing his finger at the Gila Monster.

“I don't know if this is the proper way to use it, but since it's called Curse Shot, doesn't that mean that I just need to shoot it?”

Aldric pondered for a moment and soon, an eerie energy gathered at his fingertip.

“Bang!”

He released the energy and a dark laser shot forth like a shadowy projectile. The laser penetrated the monster in the middle of its eyes, leaving a small hole on its skull.

Aldric's mouth gaped. “Wow, am I powerful, or was it weak? I should—”

Bang!

Aldric was about to get near the monster, when suddenly the head that was hit burst into pieces, scattering debris across the barren land, and some blood even landed on Aldric.

[You have defeated Gila Monster.]

[Experience points have reached a fixed amount. Individual Aldric Fellon Level 30 became Level 34].

[All stats have risen by +5,000.]

Aldric was stunned and looked at his left arm with fear and awe. He looked at his finger, and no damage was done.

“I wonder how powerful the heroes were. Why did they get defeated by the demon lord?" Aldric wondered, "Is he that powerful? Well, he destroyed the moon.”

Aldric decided not to press on that matter. He wasn't a hero like his classmates , so he should be worrying about this world.

He doesn't have the urge to save it. He hates this world as much as he hates his old world.

“I leveled up four times.” Aldric caught his breath, feeling the rush of victory. “I should skin this guy now before more monsters gather. I don't want to be outnumbered once again."

[Skill used, ‘Harvest’]

Thanks to his skill Harvest, Aldric skillfully skinned the Gila Monster, obtaining valuable materials from the creature.

[You have obtained Gila Monster Hide.]

[You have obtained Gila Monster Meat.]

[You have obtained Gila Monster Scales.]

[You have obtained Gila Monster Fang.]

[You have obtained Gila Monster Venom.]

“What a haul! These materials might come in handy later.”

Aldric carefully stored the materials in his inventory, considering their potential uses.

With a grin and he decided to go back to the cave, satisfied with his successful harvest.

He didn't discover more monsters, which was unfortunate. He was hoping to find more and get more supplies.

****

SITTING on the cold ground of the cave, Aldric took the materials and meat he got and used Appraisal on them.

He saw nothing special about them other than the venom that he obtained.

"This will come handy later when I make a door for this cave," he said as he put them on his inventory again. "The skill Absolute Strorage is nice. I can put anything I want and it won't get lost or damage and as the name suggest its storage is absolute."

Aldric used the bones, skin, and the less valuable parts of the monster as fuel, and finally, he acquired fire.

The flames flickered and danced, providing Aldric with a source of heat and light inside the cave.

“There we go. Survival in this harsh world just got a bit more manageable.”

Aldric decided to cook the meat. He sticks a bone on the meat and uses it as a makeshift skewer.

"This is like camping," Aldric muttered.

He was quite happy with his haul.

The aroma of the meat soon filled the cave as it sizzled on the makeshift fire.

The meat slowly cooked, and Aldric's stomach rumbled in anticipation.

He was about to take a bite when suddenly, he sensed a presence approaching inside the cave, and their number was more than one.

“Is it another monster? Did I attract them?” he mumbled as he activated his skill ‘Danger Perception’ and continued to eat the meat as if he sensed nothing.

Aldric discreetly grabbed the hilt of the dagger he had obtained from the Gila Monster, keeping it within reach. He didn't detect any killing intent, but there was nothing wrong with being cautious.

He doesn't know about this world and there could be something much more dangerous than living on this barren land.

The footsteps drew closer, and soon, figures emerged from the shadows, and he was finally able to see the intruders.

Aldric's eyes widened when he saw who the intruders were. He often saw these kinds of monsters in games, manhwas and novels—Goblins.

Known as one of the weakest monsters.
