Across the room, Jackson burst into laughter, his eyes glinting with scorn. “Faith in you? Do you even have faith in yourself?” He leaned forward, grinning. “Listen… this is real life, not some fiction story where you think things will go your way. You can never confront the Quinn family.”

Maya crossed her arms, shaking her head. “He really wants to die so badly,” she muttered under her breath.
