But then seeing his HP hardly reducing made him think of something. The water swipe just deduct one HP per water swipe, so that means he had the chance to at least fire out 26 water swipes before his HP reduces to one.

Which means at least each of the creatures he is about to fight should get 13 hits each! Which was unlikely. To be able to attack them head on, he needs to be real quick at that.
