"Are you implying that I lied to you?" She rolled her eyes at him seeming annoyed but he didn't say anything to her so she continued. "We were all divided into three groups, robbers, policemen, and hostages, The hostages were tied by the wrist, and although I was chosen to be one of the robbers, a colleague of mine Tracy complained about switching places with me and I did." She shrugged, pouting her lips as she stared at her wrists with a frown.
"I didn't expect it to be too tight that would cause my wrist to redden, that's why I wore the long-sleeved pajamas knowing you were going to be annoyed when you saw me hurt." She pouted her lips staring at him with angel eyes but Chris didn't look as though he believed a single word she had just said and she noticed that. "If you don't believe me then I can call her in front of you."
Chris was still silent and finding a fault in whatever lies she just spoke but nothing came to mind, it was so perfectly planned that he could not question it, she reached out to her phone and dialed Tracy's number in front of him and handed the phone to him. "Ask her all the questions you need to." She huffed, Chris immediately ended the call still unable to find a sentence in her words, and decided to give it up.
"How then do you explain the love bites, I certainly don't leave marks on you." He pointed out and he stared at them again.
"We went camping."
"Camping on a business trip?" Chris scoffed, finding it hard to believe her words. "Did the company suddenly decide to go on a holiday during a business trip?"
"Believe it or not darling it happened, although that was a day before we came home we decided to do it…. There were lots of insects and mosquitoes biting we didn't come quite prepared for it." She explained collecting her phone from him and placing it on the bedside table. "Is that all Mr. police?" She jeered smirking at him as he stared at her suspiciously, still finding it hard to believe what she was saying.
"Why didn't you bring camping things along with you."
"It was impromptu honey, since my colleagues had arranged it for us to take a break from work you know." She explained, that Chris was silent and had no more words to counter hers since she always had a valid reason he could find fault in. "If that's all them I'm going back to sleep, I have a lot to do at work tomorrow." She ticked herself in the bed and turned to the side to sleep. Chris couldn't sleep as kept thinking about what she was saying contemplating if it was true, he didn't know whether to believe her or not but she never hesitated but answer his questions and even offered for him to call her colleague as an alibi, he spanked his face with his palm wondering why he couldn't leave all this be, his marriage was built on trust and love, there no way his wife would lie to him so casually.
"I need to stop overthinking." He scolded himself but decided to go to her office the next day and confirm for himself if what his wife said was true maybe that way he would be willing to let all of this slide. He turned off the lights and shut his eyes tiredly, all this thinking was putting a lot of stress on him
The next morning Chris opened his eyes yawning as he rolled to the other side of the bed knowing his wife wouldn't be there because she always went early to accomplish more. He signed staring at the ceiling before gathering the strength to get up, he washed his mouth and took a shower dressing up for work while recalling would be dropping by his wife's company to clear his doubt as he still questioned her answer, he stared at himself in the closet mirror to be sure he looked good, he wore a tux suit and black loafers that looked perfectly good on him, grabbed his phone putting it in his pocket going down the stairs and made his way to the kitchen to prepare some coffee for himself when his phone dinged, he took it out of his pocket while preparing his coffee and saw it was a message from an unknown number.
He furrowed his brows wondering who it was that had messaged him so he unlocked his phone and opened the chat.
"Never knew you were this pathetic that you couldn't figure out your wife's Infidelity."
Chris stared at the text in disdain as he wondered who the person was, and what was the aim of doing this. He sighed in frustration, he couldn't even wake up thinking about everything else but his wife cheating on him, the past few days were enough for him to go crazy in his mind. He leaned on the counter trying to calm himself before he had a headache.
"Are you scared to take action as a man, isn't it better to be free from a woman that has been deceiving you all this time?" He received another message from the number again and frowned, he clenched his fists in anger and texted back.
"Who the hell are you?" He was so pissed he would live to punch whoever it was in the guts, how could anyone speak of his wife that way? Of course, he was suspicious about his wife but he wasn't sure, and receiving this text was more angering to him, he stopped making the coffee instantly losing interest in it, and made his way to his wife's office, he needed to be sure what was going on or he would go on a rampage, all the while one thing remained in his mind who was it that texted him?
Chris dialed the number that had just texted him but it was switched off which angered him, How could anyone sprout such nonsense and be scared to talk afterward?Just then someone called his phone and saw it was his assistant at his company, he immediately answered the call placing the phone on his ear."Good morning sir." His assistant Marcus greeted. "There's a situation." He sounded distressed and Chris knew instantly that something was wrong."What do you mean there's a situation?" Chris questioned making his way back to his car."Well there is a large painting on the company building with the word shame," Marcus explained, Chris paused for a second wondering if it was the person that had a person that had texted him initially, he couldn't think of another person who would do such a thing."Well do so things about it before it causes any issues, Also have you been able to find out the culprit?""No one has been brought forward yet but I'm on it, sir.""Good, I'll be on my way the
"Spit it out, what's wrong." Chris urged him as he wondered what he wanted to say that was so hard to spit out. He was having a bad day already and the suspense wasn't at all helping matters, he gently tapped his fingers on the table."I came to town a few days back and stayed in Lenora Hotel but something caught my attention." Brian began to say after so much hesitation."What is that?" Chris asked, getting tired of the suspense Brian was giving him. He leaned back in his chair "Not to say that she's cheating on you but it's just something I observed and wanted to be sure.""What do you mean?" Chris furrowed his brows"I couldn't see them quite well but I know your wife when I see her…. The man was about the same height as you if not taller and he had tattoos on his hand, I couldn't see his face." Brian explained. "When they were about to leave he called her name.""How sure are you that it was my wife you saw?" Chris asked."He called her Ari." Chris was dumbstruck trying to proces
Brian and Chris both arrived at the hotel and casually walked in but before they got to the reception, Chris told Brian how to go about requesting for the CCTV footage for it to be easier for them."I'm sorry but I cannot allow you access to that sir." The receptionist said plainly and casually resumed her work. She liked white young and beautiful yet charismatic, Brian who is known to be a player wasn't in the mood to pull anything off as the situation was a matter of emergency, that could either break a marriage or clear doubts in the air."What nonsense is this? Do you have any idea how much that Rolex watch costs?" Brian snapped at her angrily but still, she wasn't shaken by those words."I cannot let you sir, please understand." She told him. "Could you tell me your name so I could search from our records if you had booked our hotel, From there I can take you back to the room you stayed in and do a thorough search.""Brian Owens." He told her adjusting his sunglasses as he looked
Chris squinted his eyes and finally realized it was not who he assumed but it was someone unexpected, he knocked frantically on the window causing the two to stop exchanging saliva, the lady turned to see who it was that had disturbed her session and was even more shocked, filled with terror that she began to tremble. Susan quickly got out of the car trying to calm herself down, She pushed down her dress to make it longer, staring into Chris's eye to eye. She was still in shock and trying to get a hold of herself in this situation. She was wearing a quite revealing dress exposing her gigantic boobs, the dress was fitted revealing her nice shape and flawless skin. "What are you doing here?" She questioned like shhadn't't done anything bad a few seconds ago, She tidied up her hair which was now loose, and stared away from him "That's not your husband," Chris informed her like she didn't already know, if this was what his wife's friend was doing behind her husband's back then his wife
"Tell me about the dancing at the party." Chris inquired but she hesitated for a moment to recollect memories of that day as she wriggled her fingers slowly looking up at him. He glared down at her trying to contain himself but the frustration he felt was beyond what he could imagine, he still couldn't bring himself to believe all this was happening no matter how many times the truth was glaring at him in the face, he believed his dear wife would blnever think of doing that to him. "It wasn't a normal party." She looked up quite terrified wondering if it was okay to say it or not but she had no choice than to do so. "It was a performance arranged by our manager for us to dance in front of rich men." Susan dropped her gaze to the floor trying to hold back the embarrassment and guilt she felt. Chris was horrified by the thought of his wife doing such a thing, was it because of money, if so he had more than enough, was it because she was loosing interest in him? That didn't seem to be th
"Yes it was indeed tight but I don't think it could leave bruises on her skin because she wasn't the hostage," Susan explained and Chris was a bit confused wondering how she would have gotten the bruises if she hadn't played hostage. How dubious is she? Is this the fragile woman he had been with for five years? Could it be that she had gotten the bruises before the game so she could use it as an alibi? Chris thought to himself. If that is so then where had she gone to and how did she get so badly bruised that her colleagues didn't know about it when she was to play hostage or could the person who had tied her hand know about it and shrug it off? Chris' head kept ringing with a lot of unanswered questions. He was running out of patience wanting to know the truth about everything at go but it didn't seem like it would happen that way. "Were your rooms together back at the hotel?" Chris asked Susan who was silent for a few seconds, she nodded her head negatively trying to recall who ha
"There are a whole bunch of men that fit your description so I can't say I know that person." Susan shrugged. "If you knew what his name was then that would be a different scenario." She added scratching her hair as she nervously looked around wanting to be out of their sight at any moment. "Damn it!" Chris stomped the ground hard as he frowned his lips in frustration, just when he thought there was going to be a lead but it was another futile dead end. "Are you lying just to cover up your friend?" Brian asked staring at her eye to eye which was intimidating as she looked away from him. "Why would I lie knowing you could end me with just that video on your phone?" She rolled her eyes feeling as though she was stomped upon, she felt her pride meltdown once again. "I doubt she can sprout any lies at the moment," Chris informed Brian who backed away from Susan leaving her to breathe properly, She rolled her eyes at him hating his presence around her. "Does any woman in the company g
"Keep your filthy fingers away from my husband, you cheap whore." Aria snapped at Melissa who was stunned. "It's not what you-" Melissa tried explaining herself but got interrupted by the raging Aria who seemed like she was ready to pounce on her again. "That's what they all say." She snapped. "Just because he seems like an easy target doesn't mean you would have him to yourself. Chris was shocked by his wife's reaction wondering if she was the same woman cheating on him, he was in a daze and had no idea what to say to her because now she seemed to make herself the victim. "And you!" She turned to look at her husband glaring at him. "How could you do this to me?" Chris remained quiet unable to defend himself, he wanted to bring up the findings he had made of her cheating but decided against the idea as he wanted to have all the evidence needed. "Melissa, I'm so sorry about this, could you go freshen up?" Chris told Melissa who didn't waste another second and turned away walking aw
