The clearing near the shore provided only a brief respite. We knew the shape-shifter would not give up easily. The destruction of the artifacts had weakened it, but it was still a formidable enemy. We had to act quickly to destroy the remaining artifacts and end this nightmare.

"Alright, we need to split up again," I said, my voice steady despite the exhaustion weighing on me. "Lena, Mara, Elias, you know your targets. I’ll face the shape-shifter and buy you the time you need."

They nodded, determination etched on their faces. We had come too far to fail now.
