Mr. Asher waited in his guest living room for one hour along side Mr. Windsor before storming into the main house in search of Mr. Green. He inquired of the first guard and two kitchen staff members before finding his wife standing in front of what he guessed would be the masters bedroom. Fortunately for the servant around and his job, he saw his wife. He lied to them to wait and kept on his normal activities like they meant nothing! Did he know who they were? Do they treat billionaires that way?
“What in the hell is going on here?” Mr. Asher demandedJane smiled pretentiously as she thought they were dumb. “May I ask, what you're referring to?”The servant showed a little bit of fear although he tried hard to hide it. He knew he was referring to him. He was instructed by his boss to avoid contacts with them sternly. He was only doing what he was told to do.“It's okay. Calm down Asher.” He patted Mr. Asher calmly then turned to Jane. “We want to“Your wife is all of a sudden arrogant!” Asher said as he walked up to the door and closed it. He looked around and admired the room, “I've never been here but your room is very cosy I must commend you.”Mr. Windsor sighed, he was getting pissed off. “C'mon man, sit and let's hear him. This is not the right time to feed your eyes with pictures and surrounding environments.”“Alright! Green, what's the matter?” Asher asked.“She blames my blind loyalty to you for the jeopardy I find myself.” He sighed then continued without any interruptions, “ he told me he would do exactly what he did to Derek but I thought he was bluffing.”“Blind loyalty? When was this? What is happening?” Me. Windsor said with an exasperated frenzied look.“It wasn't news to me that Derek wasn't the CEO of Madison Enterprise anymore last Friday. He had told me before time but I didn't believe him. He told me I should join him in taking you down but I refused. I t
He stood in front of the mirror, knotting his tie. He had difficulty in making it that perfect inverted triangle and now he needed help. “Darling, please come help me, I'm running late.”“You know I got my own stuff to do and I'm a woman, look for someone to do these things.”“Guards! Guards?Guards!”“Yes sir!” A servant rushed in quickly and bent his knee. “Yeah, go get me Isabella or Maya!”“Isabella? She knows nothing about ties. Look at you, you don't even know your daughters.” Margret said with pity in her voice“No you can't say that, just don't know which is better at knotting ties doesn't mean I don't know them.”“If you say so,” she continued her makeup, laughing at his ignorance. “What are you still doing here, kneeling like a fool! Go get her!” Mr. Windsor ordered on top of his voice.“Yes sir!” The servant answered meekly.“Last night, you were very tired, what happened?”
The office air smelt nice, his secretary must have got a different air freshener but that wasn't his concern right now. He needed to find the catalog of assets so that he knew his standing. He increased the level of the air conditioner before sinking into his executive chair. He drew the first drawer out and started searching, shortly after he heard a knock. Then the door slid open a bit, then fully. It was his secretary.“Come in, come in.”“Sorry sir, I saw your car outside, I wasn't very sure it would actually be you.”“So you want to question me on why I'm in my office this early?”“No sir, it's just unusual not wrong.”“I am searching for the file containing all our investment here and abroad infact.”“I can help with that sir.”“Also I need the inventory on all our assets.”“Sorry to ask sir, but why is it so important.”“I don't pay to ask questions, I pay you to meet my demands.“
“Maya have you seen this?” Isabella said, with her mouth wide open.“Please leave me alone, I'm not interested.” Maya dismissed her.“This is not one of my shenanigans, I'm serious, it's about dad.” Isabella insisted, her eyes fixed on the phone, walking slowly to meet her.“What about dad?” Maya asked carelessly.“He's in the hospital, maybe that's why mom rushed out without saying a word.” Isabella said, still scrolling her phone.“Hospital? What's wrong with him.” Maya asked but Isabella was too engrossed in reading the information that she didn't really hear her.“Give me that phone.” Maya collected the phone forcefully and fed her eyes as well. “Heart failure? Man was alright this morning, I saw him with my bare eyes this morning.”“Give me my phone back, you've got yours.” Isabella demanded after looking at the phone alongside Maya.“Take it and go away. You've passed the information.” Maya said, taking ou
“You don't like him?”“He can't be trusted, as you stated earlier he can bend to whatever side favors him.” Jan said “I know, I'll handle him. Since we're in power, nothing can happen.” Davin said smiling.“I know but there are other things he could do to jeopardize the mission even if he doesn't betray us.” Jan said, taking a sip.“Like what? Seems you don't just like him.” Davin chuckled.“Well, he worked for the Windsors, don't like anything related to them.” Jan said sharply “You've always hated him. You did this because of your hatred.”“Not hatred per se but a grudge. I never wanted to repay him, the opportunity just came knocking. That's it.”“Oh okay. What…did he…do?” Davin asked skeptically.“Oh that! A long story, I'll tell it another day.” Jan said smiling.“Alright.” Davin gave in.A black SUV drove in and he smiled, his eyes following the car till it parked. The dr
It took a minute for him to understand his environment. He had a sharp reverberating sound occuring in his ear and he tried to use his hand to suppress it but he couldn't, it was tubed. He didn't understand why he couldn't carry his hand freely till he realized that he was on the bed again. He winced in pain while the sound started reducing and he started hearing faintly again.“Dad are you okay?” Maya said, standing over him.He heard a little so he tried to nod but his head was heavy. “Nurse! Nurse! Nurse! Somebody call me the nurse!” Margret shouted and the officers swung into action. The nurses arrived quickly with the doctor hurrying behind them. He observed what was happening and said, ”Cmon let's help him sit up, rest his head on the pillow.”The nurses immediately helped him up and he check his eyes, checked his vitals and then asked him, “can you hear me?”?“Yes doctor.” He said feebly.“How do you feel right n
“Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.” Isabella and Maya screamed out frantically. The officers at the door rushed in to find out what has happened. With their scattered around to find out the cause of the shout, they met a cool and composed setting, except of course the Maya who was already on the ground, behaving like a lunatic.“It's fine, we're good. I'll let you know if we've got a problem.” Margret said with poise, referring to the officers.“Yes madam!” They saluted and left.“Dad, what did you say?” Maya asked for confirmation immediately the last officer left.“Broke like the Glovers broke or broke like Derek broke?” Isabella asked refusing to believe it but knew this was no time for jokes.“How did we get broke and even be in debt?” Maya asked, still on the ground, reaching out to her dad who had covered his face.“You never complained of bankruptcy at any point and there was not a single day I asked for somet
He made an attempt to stand but his legs were wobbling. He held the window frame and stood firmly then walked to and fro the portion of the room that had nobody in it.“See? I'm good to go.” He smiled then turned to look at all of them, only Isabella smiled back. “Where's my phone?” He demanded after looking around.“I don't think it was brought here. It should still be in the office.”“Then why are we still here? Let's head to the office, it's past 12pm.”“If we reach on time, you'll make it in time for the meeting.” Isabella replied.Maya and Margret refused to engage in the conversation, still upset about his decision which was inimical to his health but he was adamant. Isabella ignored them as well and helped her father with little things he couldn't do.“Are you coming or you're still angry?” Mr. Windsor asked, about to leave.“Maya, let's go.” Margret encouraged her by getting up.Maya reluctantly stood up
While Helen was at the cafeteria, she ordered for a bottle of water for Davin, then for herself she got coffee and sandwich which she had to eat there. She already felt tired and a little bit shaken by the travel they had taken to get all the way to the hospital, nevertheless she didn’t like hospital that much because it brought back memories of her past. While eating, Davin phone began to ring in her bag, he had given it to Helen to keep it safe in her bag. She had thought at first that it was one of Davin’s associates calling because of business but her thoughts were wrong when she brought out the phone from her bay to see that it was an unknown caller with no caller ID at all. It wasn’t her phone neither was it her call so she saw no reasons to pick up the call, her plans was to quickly finish up the sandwich and then head to the waiting room to give Davin his call, she resumed eating her sandwich will the phone kept ringing until it stopped ringing. There was no way of her kn
Helen and Davin both had unsaid words that lingered but they were most especially weighed down by Davin’s mother current situation. They sat at the waiting room quietly while Maya had excused herself to the cafeteria. The sedative were still kicking in Margrets’s blood stream as she slowly recovered from it, the sudden news of her sickness and then the transfer from one to hospital to another even made them question the severity of her sickness, was she deteriorating in health yet the doctors kept it a secret? Many thoughts ran through Davin’s mind, what did the nurse mean by she was only stable for a while? “Davin-I guess we should go eat something” “I am not hungry” Davin replied absentmindedly and then returning to his thought “You won’t seat there and tell me that-I won’t watch you keep thinking about thing you can’t change” Helen objected in a calm and soft way “I could changed all of this, by not allowing it to happen in the first place” Davin replied looking H
“Davin! Helen!” she called out, her voice loud enough to attract the attention of other visitors. “I heard about Mom. Is she okay?”“Maya,” Davin said, keeping his voice steady. “What are you doing here?”“I came to support my family,” she said, tilting her head slightly. “Isn’t that what family does?”Helen shot Davin a look, and he felt the tension rise between them. “Support?” he echoed, doubt lacing his tone. “Or to make sure everyone knows you’re here?”Maya laughed, a sound that felt more like a challenge. “Oh, come on. I know you’re not happy about my wedding plans, but can we not turn this into a competition? This is about Mom.”“Right. Let’s just focus on her,” Davin said, frustration boiling beneath the surface. “But don’t pretend that you aren’t looking for attention.”“Seriously, Davin?” Maya shot back, her voice sharp. “You think I’m here for a show? I’m worried about her too, you know.”“You have a funny way of showing it,” he replied, crossing his arms.“Enough,” Helen
Davin sat at the dinning table, a half-finished cup of coffee in front of him, flipping through a stack of paperwork from work. The morning sun streamed through the window, casting a warm glow, but a sense of unease gnawed at him. Just then, Helen burst into the room, her face a mix of urgency and concern.“Davin! We need to talk,” she said, her voice tight with anxiety. He looked up, instantly alert. “What’s wrong?”“It’s your mother. I just got a call from the hospital. She’s seriously ill,” Helen said, her words tumbling out in a rush. “They’re flying her out of Arctic City for specialized medication.”Davin’s heart sank. “What do you mean, ‘seriously ill’? What’s going on?”“They didn’t give me all the details, just that she needs immediate treatment,” Helen replied, her eyes brimming with concern. “They’re arranging a private jet to get her to the mainland for the best care.”“Why didn’t they call me?” he asked, rising from the table, the papers scattering as he stood.“I think t
As they finished their ice cream, Mia let out a satisfied sigh, her face smeared with chocolate and mint. Davin couldn’t help but chuckle at her delight. “You’ve got a bit of ice cream on your nose, kiddo,” he teased, reaching over with a napkin.Mia giggled, swiping at her nose with the back of her hand. “It’s part of the experience!” she declared with the seriousness of a gourmet critic. “Then I suppose I’m not allowed to clean you up,” Davin replied, exchanging a knowing glance with Helen. The sun shone brightly overhead, and the market was a riot of colors and sounds. Families milled about, vendors called out their wares, and the laughter of children filled the air. The moment felt suspended in time, a perfect snapshot of happiness that Davin wished could last forever.“Let’s take a stroll down by the river after this,” Helen suggested, finishing her ice cream. “I heard they have a small arts and crafts fair set up along the walkway.”“Great idea! Mia, what do you think?” Davin
The next morning, Davin stirred awake, his thoughts drifting back to the previous night’s adventures. He felt a warmth in his chest, a comforting reminder of the laughter and connection he had shared with Helen. As he stretched and yawned, he could hear the faint sounds of Mia playing in the backyard. After quickly showering and dressing, Davin made his way to the kitchen. The rich aroma of fresh coffee greeted him, and he poured himself a cup, savouring the first sip. Just then, Helen appeared, her hair tousled and eyes still sleepy.“Good morning, sleepyhead,” he said, a smile breaking across his face.“Good morning,” she replied, stifling a yawn. “Last night was amazing. I can’t believe how much fun we had.”“I know! We need to do that more often,” he said, taking another sip of coffee. “It was nice to reconnect.”Helen smiled, the warmth of his words wrapping around her like a cozy blanket. “So, what’s on the agenda for today? More adventures?”“Definitely! I thought we could take
It was weekend already and the sun dawned bright and sunny, reflecting its warm glow through the window as Davin awoke, feeling refreshed. After the previous evening’s eventful drive and the satisfying dinner with his family, he was eager to embrace the day and make it more eventful. He glanced over at Helen, still peacefully asleep, and smiled at how lucky she was.Once dressed, Davin tiptoed into the kitchen to make coffee. As the rich aroma filled the air, he thought about how to surprise Helen later. It had been a while since they had a proper date night, and he wanted to change that. He’d plan something special, just for them. After breakfast and a lively chat with Mia about her upcoming school project, Davin turned to Helen, who had just finished her coffee. “How about we have a date night tonight?” he suggested, a playful grin spreading across his face. “Just you and me.”Helen raised an eyebrow, intrigued. “Really? That sounds wonderful! But you know we can’t just leave Mia a
The evening air was cool as Davin drove home, the satisfaction of the day’s meeting still buzzing in his mind. He replayed the conversation with the senior management team, feeling a cautious optimism about the potential for change. But just as he was beginning to relax, a sudden jolt from behind interrupted his thoughts. He slammed on the brakes, heart racing. The sound of crunching metal filled the air. Davin glanced in the rearview mirror, realizing he had been rear-ended. He exited the car, already feeling the adrenaline coursing through him.As he stepped out, his heart sank when he recognized the sleek red Ferrari that had collided with his SUV. Emerging from the driver’s side was Derek, Mia’s boyfriend, his face twisted with anger.“What the hell!?” Derek shouted, his voice cutting through the evening calm. “Why would you let your driver bump into my car?”Davin’s driver, a calm and seasoned man named Richard, was already trying to de-escalate the situation. “I’m sorry, sir. It
The next day came with a feeling of its own. After the successful town hall meeting, he felt invigorated, ready to tackle the challenges ahead. Sunlight streamed through the window, illuminating the room and hinting at a promising day.As he made his way to the kitchen, the sounds of breakfast filled the air. Helen was already bustling about, preparing pancakes while Mia sat at the table, her homework spread out in front of her.“Good morning, family!” Davin announced, pouring himself a cup of coffee.“Good morning, Dad!” Mia replied, her head buried in her math workbook. “Can you help me with this problem? I’m really confused.”“Of course,” he said, moving to her side. “What’s stumping you?”“It’s this one about fractions,” she said, pointing at the page with a furrowed brow. “I don’t get how to add them.”Davin knelt beside her, explaining the process step-by-step. He loved these moments of connection, the way teaching Mia helped him solidify his own understanding of concepts. After
