Chapter Sixty-Seven.
“Where do you think you are going?” Clara snapped.

“Mum, not now. In case you didn’t notice, he just saved our sorry behinds. The least you could do is be grateful.”

“I don’t remember asking for his help… or for your opinion.” Clara turned back to Declan. “You just had to butt into the situation and play the hero. Even manipulating my daughter to call you her husband.”

“Mum, he is my husband. Calling him that in public isn’t a bad thing.”

Declan looked at May and his face lit up seeing how she defended him.

“You might want to take this outside. I didn’t do it for you, but for her.” Declan said, smiling at May. “And just in case you haven’t noticed, the waiter caused quite a scene when he was here; your yelling just intensifies that.”

Declan said walking back to May. He leaned in towards her and went for her ears. “Later, I want you to tell me what Jason did and why he wasn’t the one paying for the meal.” He whispered before moving back. She nodded and he walked away amused at
