Chapter 006

Before leaving New York, Nathan and Jhon decided to take some time to enjoy a cup of white coffee at a famous cafe in the city of Manhattan. They sat in a cozy corner, soaking up the calm atmosphere that was perfect for relaxing. However, the serene atmosphere was broken when Nathan's eyes caught the figure of Miranda, his ex-wife, who had just entered the cafe with Kenzo, the man who was now his partner, and they even seemed to be holding hands.

Nathan's expression instantly changed. A deep unrest entered his heart.

"Why, Mr. Nathan? What's wrong with your face?" asked Jhon, who saw the change in his master's expression.

"No, it's nothing," replied Nathan, trying to contain his emotions, even though he knew they were difficult to mask. "Maybe we should just go, Jhon."

Nathan looked at Miranda and Kenzo for a moment, then back at the front. His heart felt tight. The memories he had with Miranda were vivid. He tried to control his feelings.

Nathan tried not to show his emotions in public, but in his heart there were feelings of jealousy and loss that still lingered. Even so, he tried to be strong and keep his feelings inside. She thought, "Life must go on, Nathan Moreno. Let them both enjoy their happiness for a while before-" Nathan muttered with a faint smile.

Jhon nodded, understanding Nathan's desire to get away from the uncomfortable situation. He called the waiter and paid their bill before they left the café.

However, before they could actually leave the place, Miranda gave Nathan a sharp look and then approached him along with Kenzo. She grinned wryly, so full of cynicism as she spoke to Nathan. "Hey, my ex-husband. It's funny to see you pretending to look rich to get my attention. How pathetic," Miranda teased in a dismissive tone.

Kenzo, Miranda's boyfriend, was not left out of the fun. "Oh, is she really pretending to be rich? He seems to really want to be in my shoes, darling," Kenzo said, bragging.

At this, Jhon's temper started to flare up, but Nathan was quick to calm him down by gently tugging on his arm, signaling that they didn't need to play their game.

"Jhon, we don't need to respond to their words. Let's just go, let them be satisfied with their narrow-mindedness," Nathan whispered softly as they left the café.

After leaving the café, Jhon expressed his curiosity. "Why doesn't Mr. Nathan just explain that you're already rich? It would have taken them by surprise and they could have had a sudden outburst," Jhon said curiously.

Nathan smiled, "As you said earlier, Jhon. Let them find out for themselves. We don't need to show them everything in person."

Jhon nodded, understanding Nathan's explanation. They both continued their journey with a calmer mind, letting others think what they wanted.

"I don't want to add to their complacency by responding to their remarks. My success is proof that God still sees my efforts," Nathan continued sensibly, reassuring Jhon that being calm was the best option in dealing with people like Miranda and Kenzo.

As Nathan was about to get into the car, someone suddenly grabbed his arm. "You must be the blind date I booked, right?" said a pretty girl with round eyes, smiling sweetly. Nathan looked confused by the girl's assumption.

"Huh?" Nathan replied with obvious confusion on his face. Why did this girl think he was her blind date? John, who had gotten in first, got out of the car quickly.

"Young Master Nathan!" shouted Jhon, trying to warn Nathan. However, Nathan had already been followed by the beautiful girl named Natalie.

Nathan was silent, letting himself be carried by Natalie who seemed quite excited. Nathan still looked confused. And strangely, why would he want to follow this beautiful girl.

As Nathan and Natalie approached the table where Miranda and Kenzo were sitting, Miranda's gaze immediately turned cynical. She couldn't hide her discomfort at seeing Nathan with another girl.

"How annoying!" cursed Miranda.

"What's wrong with you, darling?" asked Kenzo, trying to find out the cause of Miranda's change in expression.

However, Miranda remained silent and let her gaze do the talking. Kenzo immediately picked up on the signal, "Oh, it's because of her!" growled Kenzo in a tone full of annoyance. "Looks like he's deliberately pissing you off, Mira."

Just as Nathan and Natalie were about to sit down, Miranda stood up and faced them with a glare. "What's this drama again, Nathan?" sneered Miranda, trying to show that she was unfazed. "Now you're paying this beautiful model to pretend to be your partner, huh? Wow, cool! Turns out a trash can make a lot of money too. Steal from where?" Miranda smiled; she really had every intention of patronizing Nathan.

"Drama? What kind of drama are you talking about, Miss Skincare?" replied Natalie casually. Of course, Natalie recognized Miranda, who was the owner of the up-and-coming skincare brand QUEENA.

Miranda glared at Natalie.

"Yes, you are the owner of QUEENA skincare, right? Of course, I know!" Natalie said later.

Nathan was getting tired of the drama. He planned to leave, but his hand was suddenly pulled away by Natalie because Natalie still thought Nathan was the blind date she ordered.

"That's enough, Nathan. You don't need so much drama!" said Miranda in a rather annoyed tone, feeling that Nathan's mistake was too blatant.

"Enough, Miranda!" snapped Nathan in a stern tone, hitting the table with one hand.

"I'm sick of seeing you in front of me too!" said Nathan in a firm tone, then left the place with steady steps. Natalie was silent, confused by everything that had happened.

Miranda stared at Nathan's retreating back with an angry gaze. Meanwhile, Kenzo tried to calm Miranda, who was getting agitated with the situation.

Natalie followed Nathan with a small run outside. "Uh, wait!" Natalie shouted, stopping Nathan in his tracks.

"Sorry, miss. I'm not your blind date. I think you've got the wrong person," Nathan said irritably and resumed his walk.

When Nathan and Jhon returned to the hotel, they were completely unaware that Miranda and Kenzo were following them from behind.

"I told you, Ken, it must be an act. But how could he stay at a hotel of this class? The Mark Hotel," Miranda whispered to Kenzo, unable to believe what she was seeing. Not only that, Nathan was escorted by several bodyguards.

Kenzo shook his head with a doubtful look on his face. "No way, Miranda. This is all nonsense. He couldn't have gotten rich in such a short time. Maybe he's just one of those bodyguards," Kenzo said, incredulous.

Nathan and Jhon, realizing that they were being followed, chose not to shy away. Instead, Nathan calmly invited John to confront Miranda and Kenzo who had caught up with them.

"So you followed me all the way here?" asked Nathan with a lopsided smile, trying to show that their presence didn't bother him.

Jhon, equally calm, added, "How about it? Do you still doubt Young Master Nathan Moreno? Try following us to New York, Miss Miranda and Mr. Kenzo. Maybe then, you'll be more convinced."

Jhon took this opportunity to give Miranda and Kenzo a business card. There was a full address, and the business card was in the name of "Mr. Jeremy Atala Jameson".

Miranda looked at the business card with a confused expression. "Jeremy Atala Jameshon? Who is he?"

Nathan smiled slightly, and without answering Miranda's question, he continued to walk into the hotel.

"Then you'd better find out for yourself," Jhon replied.

Kenzo pondered for a moment, trying to digest everything that had happened. "But, how?" he asked, still in disbelief.

"You think we'll just believe it?" Miranda continued.

Jhon nodded, "No, I'm not asking you to believe me. But, if you want to know more, please call the number on the business card. Or Miss and Sir can come directly to the address," said Jhon, still dealing with Miranda and Kenzo calmly.

With a suspicious look, Miranda and Kenzo accepted the business card. However, they were still not entirely convinced by Nathan's claim.

"See you in New York, Miss Miranda, Mr. Kenzo," said Jhon, then he followed Nathan into the hotel with steady steps.

After Nathan and Jhon left, Miranda and Kenzo were still looking at each other, trying to process everything that had just happened. They couldn't deny that what they had seen and heard made them curious.

"Ken, should we go there?" asked Miranda.

Kenzo pondered for a moment, trying to digest everything that had happened. "But, how?" he asked, still in disbelief.
