Mr. Kim drove for almost an hour.

Alex had started having doubts about him already, but decided to just keep quiet and watch.

“Wow”

Alex opened his mouth in admiration when Mr. Kim stopped outside a mansion.

It was dark already, but with the car headlight, Alex could see clearly.

The gate slowly open and he drove in.

As Mr. Kim drove into the compound, Alex felt his heart stop.

light bulbs having different colors filled everywhere, “this is paradise” he inhaled.

“This place is way bigger and prettier than the Darius mansion which I visited yesterday” he hisses, “ I can't wait to see the owner of this place, who happens to be my grandfather” his heart jumps In excitement.

“ If my father is actually this rich man’s son, then I am part of this wealth!” he jumps and dances In his heart.

Even though he thought he was only excited in his heart, Mr. Kim could see through him.

“Welcome to The Xavier's mansion and don't forget you are Xavier's only grandson and the heir to all this wealth,” Mr. Kim said, smiling.

“If truly am the heir to all this wealth then I am going to be wealthy forever even without lifting my hands to work.

I will never experience bully. I won’t have to work my ass out just to feed. Not only that, but I won’t have to clean the Rift Valley university before class. The rich boys will never be able to mess up the floor I had swept “Alex said in his heart

and as his mind wandered to all the things he had been through, a tear slipped down his eyes.

He was lost in his thoughts with his eyes moist until he felt a light pat on his shoulder.

“You don't have to cry over anything now, your grandfather won't let any hurt come near you, “ Mr. Kim said

And Alex quickly wipes his eyes then nodded.

“Welcome Mr. Kim” An advance lady opened the door

“Meet Alexander, Mr. Xavier stone’s grandson from Mr. Peter Xavier, “ Mr. Kim said when the woman looked disgustingly at Alex because of how poorly his dress was.

“Mr. Pe...ter Xavier, the only son of master Xavier stone “ the lady stuttered

you are welcome. Please come in.”

“It's fine, “ Alex said all smile.

he wasn't concerned about the lady's attitude, all he was concerned about was meeting his grandfather as it appeared Mr. Kim was saying the truth the way the lady looked scared on hearing his father's name.

“If this lady can become so scared by the mere mention of my father's name, then MR Kim is saying the truth,” he thought.

Alex felt a thrill all over immediately he stepped into the room.

There was a big frame of a little boy hanging in the sitting room with other small frames of an old man, and Alex concluded that the old man was his grandfather.

“Please sit while I go inform your grandfather of your presence, “ Mr. Kim said, climbing the stairs.

Even though Alex was a bit scared, he slowly sat, “even if I am going to get killed, I should enjoy the feeling of this soft couch on my butt “ he laughs.

Alex kept roaming his eyes around the sitting room as he admires everything.

The whole place screamed of excess money, lavishly spent.

“Alexander Xavier, you are indeed my grandson, “ An advanced man said weakly as he approached Alex.

“Good evening sir” Alex quickly stood and then bowed to the man.

“Sit my child “ the man quickly said and sat after Alex had sat down.

“I am Xavier stone your grandfather, so just call me grandpa “ he smiled and Alex nodded.

“Kim dear, you've indeed done me a tremendous favor and brought a smile to my wrinkled face, thank you “

“It's nothing sir, “ Mr. Kim who stood beside Mr. Xavier said.

He was truly happy he could put a smile on his old face.

“Call everyone and tell them to come immediately to the Xavier mansion for there is goodnews, “ Mr. Xavier said, exposing his teeth

“I will do that sir, “ Mr. Kim said, bowing down and then walk out of the sitting room.

“Come sit with me dear, “ Mr. Xavier said and Alex didn't waste a second sitting with him. He could see how happy the old man looked and that made him feel special as someone so wealthy could derive joy from a wretch and poor thing like him.

Alex felt his chest tighten when he heard noises outside. And the voices grew nearer, but that wasn't his problem, his problem was that he could hear Abigail and James Darius voices from the voices that were getting closer.

his palm became sweaty as he awaits to see the owner of those voices and at the same time, he prayed silently “ oh God don't let it be Abigail and James Darius “

“What if all this whole thing was planned by Abigail and James so that they will mock me” Alex felt his heart jump into his mouth.

“And here I am thinking Mr. Kim was saying the truth” he boils in anger.

“Look who we have here” Alex heard that voice and on looking at the door, she saw Mr. Kim, Abigail, James, a lady which he assumed to be Mrs. Darius and Mr. Darius.

“The best sweeper in Rift Valley University” James answered mockingly.

“James, Abigail do you know him, “ The lady asked

“Mum, he is my course mate in college. His name is Alex. He is the poorest student in Rift Valley. He got into Rift Valley through a scholarship, and he is a sweep in Rift Valley “Abigail answered, looking at Alex with so much disgust.

“What are you doing in grandpa's mansion, you are even sitting close to grandpa with your stinky faded dress” James walked towards Alex.

“You should sit on the ground, your dress will get these expensive couch dirty” Abigail rushed towards Alex and made to drag him down.

“Enough!” Mr. Xavier scolded, “how can you say hurtful words to someone? No matter how poor somebody is, that doesn't make you superior over them now sit down”.

Abigail opened her mouth in shock

“ How can grandpa scold me for the first time in my life all because of this filthy thing”

“Abigail, James, let us all have our seats “ Mr. Darius spoke, sitting down followed by Mrs. Darius and James.

“I will make you pay for this embarrassment you've cost me! “ Abigail grits her teeth and then storms towards her parent.

“Sit, he won't get away with this,” James said to Abigail, and she nodded sitting beside James.

Alex felt his tears threatening to pour

just when he thought his life was taking a better turn for him, it happens that Abigail and James are standing in his way.

“Why do I have to be bullied every time by these two” Alex bite his lips as his face reddened and at the same time his chest tightened as he felt so much pain in his chest.

Mere looking at what just happened, Mr. Kim could tell that Abigail, James, and Alex knew each other. In fact, they attended the same college.

And it was obvious Alex has been bullied by Abigail and James.

“I will be outside if you want anything,” he said, making to walk out.

“No. Have your seat, you are part of this family,” Mr. Xavier said.

“Alex here is my grandson,” Mr. Xavier said, and silence fell in the whole room.
