Even though his eyes profusely glowed, Staas didn't use any of his newfound power to help him with this one strike. All the sheer force accumulated on his foot was from his strength alone.
*Smack!*
Full-on rage, he kicked the knight right on his chest. The sound it made was so loud, it could be heard through the entirety of the Fatherwood Forest. Even animals started running away, fearing they might get caught in his wrath.
"Ack—"
The impact was beyond powerful, blood puked out of the knight's mouth. It was enough to fill his helmet till no air was able to reside. His body was thrown far away at a speed faster than the wind itself. All the trees on his trajectory bend their trunk to let the knight fly through beyond them, and they moved as elastic as a wiggling rubber.
His body was lost from sight, no one knows how far he went from just a single kick.
At the same time, his horse was still standing straight beside Staas, although it was no longer alive. It died from pure shock created by the fear emitted from the boy's aura creeping near it.
The other knights looked at him. Covered fully in dread. The terrifying aura they saw before just grew into an even bigger, scarier monster.
Yet just like puppets controlled by nothing but dedication to their queen, the knights continued their advance. Some even went down from their horses to get more control over the weapons they were about to use against him. Though some also do so for a different reason.
They knew how screwed they are, and they wanted at least for their horses to not suffer a worse fate than what they would meet. The horses aren't as protected as the knights after all.
The archers moved into a clearer position, raised their bows high, and aimed them at the single target standing far on the front. Staas' gaze and aura terrified them, but their loyalty to the queen kept their hand steady, and their sight locked at their objective.
*Twush!*
Arrows were shot, and together they came flying across the sky, coursing through the air until they find their target. Yet how unfortunate for them, the trees are always on Staas’ side, and they protected him from any of those arrows with their giant trunks and roots.
*Thuck! Thunk! Thock!*
None of them were able to even touch the boy's body.
"Argh, I regret not bringing those crossbows!" Said one of the archers angrily.
"I think not even their beauty able to break through a tree that thick, brother…" Replied one of his fellow archers.
Nevertheless, the ranged fight didn't end there. The mages began to cast their spells and icy shards started flying across the air just like the arrows did. Although they are meaner, bigger, and colder.
*Shack!*
The trees could easily block them. However, their attack didn't end there. Those trunks began to freeze at a fast rate, rendering them brittle and vulnerable to any attack.
And so the knights continued their advance, and the archers began to shoot their arrows again, hitting the frozen trees and shattering them like glasses.
"Not so strong now… are we, monster!?" Their faces were painted with a mad smile.
The mages proceeded to cast a bigger spell, and the surrounding forest went freezing just from it being channeled. Giant ice spikes raised from the ground as if they were growing rapidly from it.
Their edge was as pointy as the eye of a lance, and they easily pierced through all the trees guarding Staas. Although the boy still has a way to not getting hit by it, dodging. The natural physic of his can skillfully evade any of the incoming attacks either from the spells or the arrows.
But now, the mounted knights are coming and their horses galloped like the harsh cold wind riding from the west. With an icy lance on their right hand, they charged furiously at the fully occupied Staas.
Yet when they were about to strike those lances, the earth began to tremble. Gigantic roots coming from the ground, coated in green lights, and they pierced the horses' stomach with a pointy edge of theirs. However, those plants can not go through and touch the knight as they were blocked by the horses' armored saddle. Although their attack was enough to make those animals remain stuck, dying full of blood with a huge hole in their body.
"He—He copied our mage's spell!" The knights started panicking. Their enemy just grows stronger and stronger with each attempt.
The assaulted knights hopped down from their dead horses, landing harshly at the ground due to how tall the pointy root is.
But when they were about to get up from their violent fall, Staas already coming at them with full force, jumping from knight to knight, kicking them till their bodies are thrown out of sight.
The chase was a mess, the knights didn't stand a chance against Staas who's fighting back. However, it was not enough, these fanatics aren't yet backing down, they kept coming back, charging at him, believing their armor will protect them.
And they're right. None of Staas' attacks were able to break how hard those armor of theirs.
Seeing how they'll just waste their horses, none of the knights were left mounted. The horses' armor didn't protect them from the danger from bellow, as the only thing on their belly is a saddle strap.
"Into position brothers!"
The knights who are now on foot, let out their swords and spears instead of the lances they used for mounted charging. With a high stance, they coordinated another advance, surrounding Staas to attack at a uniformed timing.
"Charge!" Then at the same time, they ran, readying their weapon to slash exactly when they go toe to toe with Staas.
And to their surprise, all of their attacks managed to hit the boy, as he didn't try to evade any of those blades and spears. Instead, he parried them, with nothing but his flesh and skin.
Not a tear of blood was shed nor a layer of skin was scratched. His body is like a diamond, unable to be pierced by something as simple as a sword.
Then the boy grabbed one of the spears which tried to puncture him, and shivers start running down their spine. The knights were beyond terrified, even their fanatism started to waver.
Vigorously Staas pulled that spear till the bearer fell to the ground and began laying it comfortably on his hand. Like a master, he spun that new weapon of his, and with full strength, thrust it through the eye-slit in one of the knight's helmets.
The poor soul died, and the entire forest grow silent.
The knights’ faith in their armor instantly perished. They knew if they continue this pursuit, the boy will wipe them off. They have no choice but to retreat, but…
"Can we? Will that monster even allow us to just run away after he decided to fight us back?" These questions filled the knights' minds.
*Tap!*
Suddenly, the silence got broken by the loud violent step from Staas' foot. The sheer fear emitted by him made all the knights cowered in a state of alert. They put up a stance to immediately fight whatever coming towards them.
Then as if possessed by a master spearman, Staas danced between the knights, skillfully spinning, swinging, and thrusting his spear at the enemy he's facing.
The knight tried to fight back for their survival, but they are completely outmatched. Even with almost every spot on their body covered by armor, a single tiny eye-slit is enough for Staas to puncture their head through that hole.
"Retreat! Run and save yourselves!" One of the knights shouted, telling his comrades that their struggle won't help them. They need to get as far as they can from the danger that is the boy.
The surviving knights quickly run towards the remaining horse which some of their comrades kept before engaging in a foot fight with Staas.
That boy, on the other hand, didn't get that his enemies are giving up and resigning from this battle. So he chased them, and with a wild speed, he struck the running knights trying to get to their horses.
Until when he realized that not a single projectile coming towards him, and the knights who already mounted got extremely far away from the battlefield, hence he finally knew that…
He won.
The boy turned silent, he felt how wet and sticky his hand was now. Covered in red liquid that he recognized exists both in a dying animal and Gytha's body.
He looked at it, then questioned himself, "What did I just do? Who exactly… am I?"
Staas never went into a fight before, he never knew anything about how to wield a spear, yet… his body somehow moves naturally, as if he has been practicing spear fighting for tens maybe even hundreds of years.
Combined with the stream of memory he saw before, his head is currently filled with millions of questions. But one thing he knows for sure is that at least for now, he and Gytha are safe.
With all this over, he walked back to the giant tree where the fight first broke. At the time, Staas put Gytha who's unconscious high on the top of the tree, saving her from the gaze of the knights.
"We need to meet the elders Gytha, they must be… must be able to bring you back!" Staas then retrieved the girl with both of his hands from high in the tree and calmly land on the ground to make sure her comforts.
"Let's head to the Garden of Time, the place where not even ages can hurt you."
After a long walk through the forest, the boy finally arrived at his destination. He carried Gytha right below his chest while strapping a vine of a plant he grew with his newfound power to his back, and a spear he stole from the knights was attached to it. In front of him stood tall a lone gate, covered in plants, shrooms, and mosses. From a naked eye, the gate leads to nothing. It just remained there in the middle of the forest resembling some abandoned stuff that humans left. But for the nymphs and Staas, that gate will guide them to the keepers of this forest, entities that have outlived many lives for hundreds of years, some even more than a thousand. “I stand before the greatest judge! The law of existence itself!” As he shouted the spell, the gate began to tremble. Then clack! The sound of a lock being unlocked. The gate opened its door, and from it crawl out bright light, along with white mist which slowly creeping through the air. What can be
Long long ago, when this planet was nothing but a giant empty sphere, the Goddess came step foot and created nine elements as the fundamentals of magic and energy. It was honestly a good start for the Earth, sadly that was everything the Goddess ever gave to her. As silent and lonely as it was, the Goddess decided to humor Herself with a presence of a man and created an entity based on Herself as a reference. Like how he was intended to be, the man fulfilled his duty to accompany her here on the giant empty planet. But, with how handsome She made him, even She grow distracted and forgot about the sole reason why She’s here in the first place. As time went on, the Goddess become too lazy to do anything and just let the man spoil Her every single day. Therefore to help him serve her better, She blessed gave the power of creation and creativity. With this blessing, he painted all kinds of stuff on this blank earth in order to satisfy the needs of his God
". . ." Gytha found herself awake with her head lying to a solid bed at the center tree of the Spirit Grove. Before her, he saw Nymfrik's body lying down motionless above it, falling in his deep slumber. "Ah... of course." The girl let out a weak smile filled with sadness. "Oh All-father, I just had the sweetest dream a girl could ask." She stood with her arms raised high, going all excited. "It felt so real! you were awake and we spend so much time together! learning... playing..." "I should've known better..." She sat next to him on his bed, glumly looking at his face. "I wish... we could meet soon..." Tears started dripping down. "I miss you... I wanna play with you just like how we did in my dream!" She can contain herself no longer, her face was wetter than rainy days. Then in her sobs, a warm hand suddenly wiped the tear away from her eyes. "Huh...!?" He saw Nymfrik warmly smile at her while gently caressing her red cheek. <
"So… mister All-Father the Mighty King of Nymph, how are we gonna go to Songmire?" Asked Gytha as soon as the both of them left the Garden of Time through the ever so mysterious covered in vines gate. "We are not going to Songmire yet," Staas replied, walking his way to Northwest just like Isergia suggested. "Eh!? Then to where first?" The girl was suddenly struck with confusion. "The place where they plant thingy." From the gate, it took a couple of hours for them until the sight of where they were headed finally appear since Staas chose to walk instead of just running like the wind while carrying his nymph. On the way, Staas kept playing with vines and branches created by his magic. They were small compared to all the trunks and roots he used against the knights. He even did so while he was talking with Gytha. Then since she felt as if she was being ignored with how Staas eyes never went to her face, the girl proceeded to ask, "What
From the very front of the entrance, the chief brought the two into the center of the hall. There lay a giant round table with nothing on top of it, not even a tablecloth. “Right here, Your Grace, we’ll be planning on handling the matter at hand with the invading humans.” Said the chief from the top side of the table, while Staas and Gytha stood right across him. Gytha realized what they were about to do or discuss. She quickly walked to the chief to tell him a couple of advice. “Mr. Chief, I know this is a strategy meeting… but can you please make your words easier to understand? Staas isn’t fully recovered yet, and he has as much vocabulary as a child. Although his understanding is somewhat amazing.” She said with a low voice so Staas won’t hear it and get offended. He probably won’t. “Understood, I’ll try to not make it complicated.” Replied Nightfall as he grasp the situation. “Thank you~” The girl then went back to Staas’ side with a smil
“Your Grace! Your Grace!” Along with a couple of aggressive pounding at the door, a sound of a panicked man shouting from the outside.“Ugh... why do people always wake me up early…” Fully uneager, Staas stood from his bed, quickly grabbed the top piece of his adventurer clothing on top of his bedside drawer. “Coming!”The boy walked toward the door, leaving Gytha who was still lying on his bed like a log. With sleepy eyes, he opened that very door, and there he found a fae, pale as a ghost, grasping heavily to air around him.“The humans… they’ve arrived!”Hearing that exhausted words Staas' eyes turned open wide. He immediately ran to have Gytha awake from her slumber then dressed fully to meet the chief that might already be waiting for his arrival. He also did not forget to bring the stolen spear along with him.The thing with Staas... he doesn’t really follow the basic r
*Tchk!* *Tchk!* *Tchk!* The wet sounds of knights’ footsteps polluted the air. They ran from every direction, and every single knight turned their gaze towards Staas as if he is the only enemy on this vast battlefield. Although looking at the state of the fae right now... it was the complete right attitude. The muddy soil of the farm fields made their movement quite impeded, yet their desperation to overthrow the terrifying entity in the center of their formation did not fade in the slightest. Staas who’ve been jumping around the dry road of these farm fields then decided that it’ll only be fair if he’s also get dirtied by the mud. Although, if he stood on the higher ground it would be more advantageous for him since his short body will be more parallel with those knights' heads. *Splash!* And jump he went to the watery field, with the splashing muds waved into the nearby knights’ helmets, ruining their vision for a glance. However, it was eno
“Leaving already, Your Grace?” Nicely asked the north side gatekeeper, as Staas and Gytha walked past through the gate with their luggage (stolen spear and hammer, which both are carried by plant vines attached to Staas’ back). It was such a calm and lovely morning. The birds chirping along with the sounds of faeries rebuilding their broken town walls, the air painted with soothing fog, and the breeze felt cool blowing in your skin.Well if you ask, isn’t rebuilding a damaged building would be noisy? You’re not wrong, but that’s only if you use construction tools like a hammer. The fae use nature magic to heal their wall which is made out of living trees. The noises they made are pretty similar to sparkling water.“Yup! We still have adventure waiting for us!” Staas enthusiastically answered.“Adventure eh? Already have next destination in mind?” The gatekeeper got curious.“Songmire
