Chapter 24

Kelvin didn't know what to answer. If he told the truth that he did it, he was afraid that Jaka would scold him. But if he said he didn't know, Jaka wouldn't believe him because he was here.

"Just tell me, Kelvin!" said Jaka. The man repeated his question. "Who knocked down the banyan tree?"

Kelvin had no choice but to answer honestly. Because according to him, being honest is better than lying. Because a lie that was buried would make him afraid ... afraid that his lie would someday be revealed.

"I am, Mr. Jaka," Kelvin replied as he raised his right hand and bowed his head deeply. "I did it. I'm sorry, Mr. Jaka!"

"What?" Jaka widened his eyes, incredulous. He couldn't even do that, so how could Kelvin, a little boy, topple such a big tree? "No way ... no way if you did it. Don't lie, Kelvin, just tell me the truth!"

Kelvin raised his head. It turned out that his assumption was wrong. He thought Jaka Kusuma would be angry with him if he told the truth that he was the one who did it.
