I don't know why when I asked that, Mrs Blake showed a kind of meaningful smile.

It wasn't her first kind of smile. It was a mischievous and ignorant grin.

I'm not psychic, and I hate guessing the most. But, from his gaze, he seemed to be saying, 'And you said you guys were never close.'

Duh, why do adults like to infer something unnecessary and repetitive?

This, after all, isn't due to some sort of ulterior motive or undisclosed closeness. It could just be the responsibility of a class president.

Yeah... though there's a bit of a motive that I can't tell you exactly, anyway.

"I didn't faint, McKane."

"That's... true." Silly me. Not only did it make me look like an idiot, it also sent us into an awkward silence.
