Gavin was still imprisoned for a crime he did not commit; he paced around the cell and occasionally sat down to consider what he could do to get out of it, but nothing came to mind.

He began to blame himself for not staying in the apartment he had reserved for himself, and wished he had never met Scarlet at the ice cream shop.He wished he had come out a few minutes later so that he could avoid the ice cream shop and go to the one before, the one where he met Scarlet, or the one after.

He blamed himself for offering to help Scarlet and wished he had not followed the ambulance, as he would not be in this situation now.

He felt like an animal trapped in a cage as he continued to pace around the prison cell and began thinking of who he could call to get him out of the prison.

He then remembered Thomas and decided to call him.
