62. Guilty-ridden.

It was already late in the night when Meghan received a call from her husband. The moment she heard the ring tone, she could already tell for no reason whatsoever that he was in trouble. There was no way to explain it for her. It was sort of like an electric feeling that moved through her nerves.

She picked up the phone, listened to what he had to say and dropped the phone back on the table.

She put her hands on her waist. And then her lips. And then on her forehead. She could feel the anxiety surge up as sweat dropped of her face.

Once again, he had gotten himself into trouble, she thought. How was she going to go about it?

That night, she had to put on something comfortable enough to shield her from the cold of the night, and went out to meet her husband who was in police custody.

She cursed as he walked down the road.
