After the king told the location of the temple Chris didn't think much and went into the lake, he could feel the density of the energy in the lake any normal person trying to reach the temple inside probably wouldn't be able to dive further than a few meters since the pressure caused by the energy would destroy them.

At the very least only a divine realm could enter the deepest parts, but even if they reach the temple in the deepest part of the lake, whatever is inside it may very well not have the strength to gain any gain from this and end up leaving empty handed.
