"You were given a false report about me, Sheriff Brightside," Noah Allen said from where he was seated in the Sheriff's department, with his hands in cuffs. He had spent his entire night there and it was exasperating to him, but he still managed to keep his cool since he wanted to get out of the Sheriff's department as quick as he could.

"Bring him in," Sheriff Brightside commanded the cop at his side and a few seconds later, he came holding a guy who had his face swollen from punches.

Sheriff Brightside took his hat off and placed it on the table, fully prepared for what was about to unfold during that hour. He had suspended everything else did this.

"You know him?" Sheriff Brightside turned to Noah Allen, referring to the man who was brought in by one of his cops.

"No," Noah denied flippantly. He couldn't bring himself to agree. Not if he wanted to get out of there as fast as possible.
