Chapter 134

Betty, Oliver's secretary quickly stepped down from the cab as rumbling thunder sounded in the sky. She paid the cab man and as he zoomed off, she quickly dashed into her house. It was starting to drizzle by then, and when she searched for her key, some of the waters fell on her.

Her house was a good one standing by the side of the street. Other than the most neighbors and the dog that always barked whenever it sees her coming, it was a pretty good place to stay. There were several flowers adorning the front of the houses, and the green field in the front made it seem like the landscape was dreamy.

Betty quickly opened her door and stepped inside. She locked the door behind her, and pulled off her coat.

"Brit, I'm home..." She called out to her cat. Betty looked down and saw that the cat had not eaten a single meal from it's plate. It was unlike her to do so.
