Eighty two

Ivy walked around her sister's corpse. She sniffled as she gazed into the cold eyes of the fierce woman that she once loved as her only sister. The other female soldiers paid close attention as Ivy proceeded to light a match.

The body was placed on a pile of wood. Petrol was poured over the corpse and the women stood a few feet away from the wood. It was the family's belief that a matron should be cremated and the ashes scattered to the wind. They believed that in that sacred practice, the matron would be able to pass it's wisdom to the new one.

A boom set the corpse ablaze. Ivy gazed at the burning wood and while she did so, anger filled her spirit. She wanted to kill Oliver so much. Her heart ached from the anger she felt. She stood still and watched the fire ravage the body of the matron and while the flames burned, the women all turned to her and bowed.
