“They did a really good job evacuating the citizens,” Lyon said as soon as they got to the waiting point.

Despite it being in the afternoon, everywhere was as silent as a graveyard and the only living creature that could be seen was a butterfly and even that wasn’t much.

The entire place looked like it had been drained of life and even as they waited, Lyon could not only smell but he could feel the impending doom that was about to befall them.

He had been feeling it since their ride here and the closer they got to the waiting point; the more intense that feeling got.

The feeling got so strong that Lyon could feel his stomach tightening, he tried to shake it off but he couldn’t. He tried to chalk it up to worrying about the world but that wasn’t it.

He was worried about the world, yes, but he was more worried about how disappointed he would be in himself if he was unable to protect this world he cherishes so much.
