2022-08-19 18:44:38When we got to the palace, Queen Elizabeth led Sarah and me to the king's private study. When we arrived at the door of the study, she knocked twice before we got permission to enter.
The study was huge. It had shelves that were as high as fifteen feet, stacked with books of different colours. Some of the books were about magic, which is surprising because the king was a broadsword user.
We saw the king sitting behind a desk filled with files and ledgers. Behind him were a blue lion shield and a great sword behind it. Sarah hurried to him and told him what happened at the awakening ceremony, while the queen sat on the couch at the centre of the room and made a cup of tea for herself
I could see the surprise and astonishment from the king as he looked at me with a strange glint in his eyes.
“Peter my boy, you sure a full of surprises, this old man knew you would be a knight but to imagine that you got magic too, your parents would be proud,” the king said as he patted my shoulders.
“your majesty, you shouldn’t say that you are an old man, what would people say when they see the queen, are you calling her an old woman too,” I said to the king with a smile.
I could feel the temperature in the room drop and I knew the queen understood what I meant, ‘good luck mark, you will need it, and gave the king the sympathetic look.
“Dear, are you saying I am old,” the queen asked the king in a sweet voice but to him, It did not seem that melodious at all, because I could see him shivering.
“My dear wife you know I don’t mean that, it’s the cheeky brat twisting my words,” he said trying to appease her.
“Peter, do you want to test my sword skills, it will help you a lot,” he said and I knew that would be an ass whopping for me.
“Oh great king, you know I just got my talents awoken, so I am no match for your amazing sword skills,” I said declining his tactfully and promising myself not to tease him again.
“Alright, since the both of you have gotten your talent awakened, I have a gift for both of you,” he said as he placed two small white boxes in front of us and made a gesture for us to open them.
We opened the boxes and saw red rings in them. I picked up the ring in my box and examined it. The artisanship was nice and I could see some magic runes on them.
“These are storage rings that I have prepared for you”, “inside the rings are books on magic and mana control, with some magic equipment,” he said to us.
I wore the ring on my right index finger, it fitted it well and I wondered what was inside the ring.
“To access the storage ring you have to release a little bit of mana into it, since both of you just got your first circle I will teach you guys how to do it,” the queen said putting down her cup of tea.
She directed Sarah and me on how to circulate our mana into the ring, it took me more time because it was my first time ever tapping into my mana core.
When I accessed the storage ring, I could see different types of magic books from mana absorption to mana control and the equipment was all silver grades, which was fair enough because higher grades are harder to get.
I took my mind out of the ring and looked at Sarah, she also was surprised by the number of things inside the ring.
“Thank you, your majesties,” I said; as I bowed to the king and queen that were now sitting on the couch.
“Go and rest up both of you, you will be called once lunch is ready,” the queen said to us with a smile.
“Peter, I will talk to the director of the academy about your classes, since you will start the academy in two weeks, we need to set your class schedule,” the king said to me and I thanked him.
Sarah dragged me out of the study. When I got to my room, I plop down on my bed thinking about what happened today and held the red dragon pill.
“Dragon race,” I said remembering what they told me and closed my eyes to sleep.

I watched both my daughter and Peter leave the study and rested my back on the couch with my wife.
“Dear, I know you felt something from him when you touched him,” she said as she rested her head on my shoulders.
“There is really nothing I can hide from you my dear wife,” I said as I hugged her closer.
“Yes, I felt a great source of power inside that boy. His potential is limitless, to be able to awaken both knighthood and magic at the same time I really want to nurture him and see what he becomes in the future” I said and she replied with a nod.
“He is a good kid and I know that he would be a great mage in the future”, “let’s wait and see what will happen”. She leaned into my chest and I stroked her back.
“We need someone to protect our daughter from them when the time arrives. I hope he would stand by her at that time,” I said as I thought of the other kingdoms.
“Take him to the vault next week, let him pick a weapon of choice, it will be of great help to him” my wife suggested after some time.
“I agree with that, and seeing his style of swordsmanship, a great sword is not his type and I know the perfect sword for him.” “It all depends if he can control the sword,” I said as I agreed to her suggestion and the room turned peaceful and quiet.

That night, I decided to take the red dragon pill. When I swallowed the pill, I could feel a fiery sensation coming from my chest as the pill started to dissolve. After breakfast, Sarah and I took a walk to the back garden of the palace. The back garden was very beautiful, with different types of exotic and nearly extinct plants there. In the garden, you can see different colours and species of birds flying around. This place was a safe haven for these birds because they had been hunted outside of this place. We walked on the marble walkway and by the side of the walkway; you can see heroes, generals and kings as you walk down the pavement. We got to the centre of the garden and there was a statue of the first king of Gales kingdom. The stature was at least 10 meters tall and it was so life like that you could feel pressured just looking at it. On the four corners of the stature, stone slaps with the biography of the king written on them. His name was Vincent Yates, the first divine sword saint of the kingdom. When we entered the vault, it was as huge as the hall in the palace, filled with different types of weapons and armour. "I brought you both here to select your weapons and staffs respectfully, the equipment here is all gold grade and real treasures of the kingdom," King Mark said as we walked around. "Sarah, this staff will fit you because of your natural control of nature. It has a great boost to all wind and nature spells, be it defence and attack" Queen Elizabeth said and gave Sarah a green staff with a grey gem at the top. The staff looks like it was made of roots intertwined together from the bottom to top, only separating at the top so the grey gem can be there placed. When Sarah held the staff, she channelled a little bit of mana into it. As if alive, the staff became greener and the grey gem turned blue. Peter got to his room and headed straight for the bathroom, done with that, he started learning how to cast a lightning spell ‘lightning bolt’. It took him a couple of hours to cast it. Lightening spells are quite destructive like flame spells, but they had an extra advantage because they help increase the users' mobility, but to do that you have to get he has to reach my third circle, but that’s for normal people. He practised the spell for a few more hours until he heard a knock on his door, the person opened it and Sarah poked her head through the gap and saw him casting fireball and lightning bolt at the same time with amazing speed. “Wow, you can now cast both spells simultaneously,” she said stepping into the room. She sat on the bed and watched him continue practising. “Any improvement on the control of your nature affinity,” peter asked her. For the next two days, Peter continued his training and was improving his coordination, between his swordsmanship and my spell casting.One evening he was training in the training ground in the palace, casting spells at the same using different sword skills that will increase his combat ability. King Mark was standing on the balcony of the third floor of the palace watching him train with a smile on his face.Peter decided to test the king's domain ability to see how powerful it was. He cast the spell and reduce gravity on his body and jumped 5 meters into the air, then increased it as landed with a downward slash."Wow, this is amazing," he said truly amazed by the power to control gravity. After a good night's sleep, early in the morning, Peter was up for my morning exercise as usual before heading to the bathroom. When he got out, Peter arranged his clothes and placed them in my storage ring. Peter wore a black shirt and blue pants, with his hair tied up in a man bun. He walked to the living room, where he will be meeting the royal family for breakfast. Peter looked around the palace as he made his way there, admiring its beauty and majesty designs. He was so going to miss this place and he has gotten close to most of the staff here because we are all commoners. "Good morning Peter, you going to the academy today, make us proud," said the butler in charge of all the affairs of the palace. He was a middle age man, with grey hair and a goatee. He has been working in the palace for close to thirty years and is trusted by the king. "Don't worry, I will sure make those nobles know the power of us commoners," Peter said with a nod. They

After arranging my stuff in the room, I looked around the academy. On the knight tower, each floor was divided by the level of the knight. The first floor was for the beginners, the second floor was for the sword, spear or other knights, the third floor was for the aura sword knight, and the fourth floor was for the general level knight. Their rooms were bigger and it comes with a personal training area.The academy gives two years of training to get the sword knight level and then heads out for a year to train as adventurers. However, a minority of people make it to sword aura knight class before the two years deadline and some don’t make it to sword knight after the deadline and are expelled from the academy.I continued to read the instruction manual of the knight tower as I made my way to the mage tower to look for Sarah. By the speed I am going I might not need a year to advance to sword knight, so I have to reduce my speed as well and master the level I am at.I got close to the

The next day was the induction and introduction of new students into the academy, so wore my black combat gear with the green sword patch on the left shoulder. The combat gear I was given was a wooden sword and shield, forearm and shin guard made of leather, with a chest plate also made of leather and there was all black.I left my room because I was on the second floor made for beginners, it was crowded with students wearing green combat gear, so I stood out from the rest and it gave me unwanted attention. Because my black combat leather amour was fitted to my body outlining my muscle, and I was quite tall, with my auburn red hair still in the same style Tina made it yesterday, it was easy for me to be the main attraction.“Bro how come yours is black, but I have to say you badass,” the boy in the room before mine said. The next week started and it was the first class for Peter and Joy in the third circle. They stood in front of ten feet high door and they could feel mana fluctuation from it.They open the door and step into an open field with trees and a lake. They were both surprised by the view and knew that this place was not in the tower because the land mass was large to accommodate the entire tower. When Tina got down from the stage, she met Sarah smiling at her, “you finally advanced to the second circle,” she said to her. Sarah advanced to the second circle of days earlier after a hellish training session with Miss Helen.She has been getting personal training from her once in a while and they have been extremely harsh, but thanks to that, she advanced to the second circle. Her nature affinity increased a lot after that and she got a new spell called ‘MOTHER NATURE’. It is a growth kind of spell, when casting that spell, for twenty minutes she can summon wines and roots from four feet around her. The stage of the arena was covered with smoke. Peter stood at his spot waiting for the smoke to clear off. On the other side, the boy pointed his staff forward and four magic circles appeared, “Scattershot.” Flames shot out from the circle into the smoke heading for where Peter was.Peter sensed the fluctuation of mana and his dragon sense made him know that an attack was coming his way. He channelled mana into his hand creating a whip from fire. When the flames shot out of the smoke screen, Peter flogged his whip forward towards the flames and it destroyed the flames.Peter sent the whip forward striking at his opponent, the boy raised a flame wall to block it. If it was not for the boost his staff gave his flame spells it would have collapsed under that single strike.Peter whipped the firewall again, and it started flatter, after the next strike the flame wall exploded, and the shockwave sent the boy two feet backwards. Samuel stood on the stage facing his opponent. He took a red staff with a ruby at the tip. The ruby glowed with a tinge of an orange hue to it. He got the staff from a merchant for a high amount of gold after his duel with Peter.The boy with the buzz took off his cloak; he was wearing a sleeveless top showing his muscles. He had too many muscles for a mage.“Are you both ready,” Owen asked the boys and they both nodded. “Begin,” he said and the boy with a buzz cut shot three rock bullets at Samuel.“Fireball” a magic circle formed in front of his staff and fireballs blasted out of it meeting the rock bullets coming his way. “BOOM” an explosion happened as the spells met midway. His face was covered so that always his eyes could be seen. He had little presence and could easily be lost in the crowd. The boys were surprised by the outcome of the fight. In the class, students were inscribing tunes into sheets of paper. It was not other ordinary paper but magic sheets used to create magic scrolls. Magic scrolls are sheets with spells engraved on them, sold to merchants or adventurers.The price of the magic scrolls depends on the quality. The scrolls are divided into three grades. They are ‘Normal, Rear and Epic’ grades. So the class are learning how to engrave magic spells into the sheets. Some would blow up in their face, while most just created normal-grade scrolls.Peter found it interesting, as he tried to engrave the runes without using the steps he had gotten from the knowledge of the dragons. He wanted to test himself and he was among the set that the sheet blew up at their faces.Joy was not having it easy but she didn’t blow the sheets up in her face like Peter.“that’s all for today, I know it’s not easy but keep practising and we will continue in the next class,” Owen said as he made his way out of the class.“This is very
